Someone was shouting in WG and asking for help on Alla. Do you really think they would have killed it anyway? I highly doubt it, especially considering the person who was organizing it.
What Red did wasn't hilariously funny, maybe mildly amusing, but it wasn't assholish. If someone was shouting that an NM is up and they want to kill it, and you knew you could get people together quickly, wouldn't you go kill it before they did?
Jormy is always up. And Vrtra requires some sort of planning (or a bunch of luck/KClubs idk).Originally Posted by Tokitoki

MY THEORIES! LET ME SHOW U THEM!
Ok guys its nice to see that another theory got ripped apart because its to far fetched. I have heard pretty far fteched theorys in my day and this one isnt that bad, and overly holds more truths.
In port windurst at the observatory you can see certain stars, each its own element. The stars have correlation to compass directions. There are several theories based of this star alingment, Crafting skill ups is a mjor one. I have also tested 2 of the lesser known theories,
1 Stars + Elemental directions
As you may or may not know all weapons also share an element, and are evidently shown through the rewards from Prime Avatar battles
ie. Garudas Dagger is Wind
Ifrits Blade is Fire
Also note that base stats AGI, DEX, etc are based off of elements as well
i.e. Agi is wind
Dex is lighting
So now finding your elemental star and lining up accordingly gives you hidden affects.
Using Dagger
facing the wind star you receive boosts to evaison(agi) , and dagger atk rate+
hwever facing the Ice star you will lose evade and dagger speed
Using Sword
facing the fire star you receive boosts to STR, and ultimitly damage
facing water sees you hitting for less
*NOTE* these 2 specific examples have been tested in PvP using standard daggers/swords on a 75 with no armor the speed ratio from dagger seems to be roughly a 2.5% increase to overall speed accumulated over the duration of the fight not all once. Consequently Using armor that has +WIND resistance decreased the speed -2.5% when facing the afformentioned star. With a sword the STR boost on same lvl 75 charecter was roughly a 6 point increase or 3 ATK over the duration of the fight not all at once. Again using Armor that has +fire resist caused a overall decrease in STR by the same numbers.
2 MOG HOUSE EFFECTS
BAsed of the same star alingment as above mog enhancement benifits are based from the "Glow" in your house.
If you have a strong lightning glow you you will receive bonuses to DEX
You will receive the benifits alligned to the specific element in your Base stats of STR, DEX, VIT etc. Equiping gear that adds to this efect also increases it upon your alingment to specific star.
*NOTE* Also tested in pvp aligning to a specific star based on you mog house "Glow" you receive the elements bonus, for the test my MH was glowing with WIND, so i lined to WIND using a sword (fire is neutral to wind) and received a overall increase in evaison and atack speed, consequently if the target is strong to the element (wearing +WIND gear in this case) you will be reqular in attacking. However if you wear the same gear as the person you +WIND wil be higher than the <t> and give you the bonus. Facing the wrong star or your MH negates all effects.
So now for the gravey of this, if you base your house, gear, weapon along the same element and face your star you will gain the bonuses hidden in that element.
The scholars ability to further increase this is also hidden if you do not know it, casting windstorm on a tf dual weilding daggers with a MHE of wind will provide him with Bonuses he would not normally aquire. Provided he faces his Star. The use on ones self or a BLM also has it rewards seeing as mages are an exception to the rule as they reside in LIGHT/DARK and have no stars (more on this in a moment). The casting of a specific -storm spell in regards to a Nuke will lessen it resistance to the mob, and greatly reduce it to nearly minimal if you face the Nukes particualr star.
By saying they have no particular element i refer in terms of melee etc since they do not. however stars can be assinged to most jobs, the orginal 6 at least with relative ease.
before i delve into this i will tell you this is factual based of the stats of jobs. (orginal 6 obs only) some share traits
WAR- STR- FIRE, VIT- EARTH
THF- AGI- WIND, DEX- THUNER
MNK- VIT- EARTH, STR- FIRE
BLM- INT- ICE,
WHM- MND- WATER,
RDM- exception - close stats make it universal (like its job)
If your curious to find the correalation of elements check the elemental enfeeble spells drown, forst, burn. etc they will tell you which element pertains to each stat and you can figure out which stats are affected by aligning to the worng star.
As for the OP it is entirley plausable that this would work having tested these other 2 theories i can specutlate on how to take full effect of this. For example casting wind storm on a tank and manuvering into alingment for the mob to be facing ICE and tank facing wind would yeild rewards. In addition to this the mob now being wind, facing ice he will receive penalties. This will help with magical ACC, just based of the facts i have uncovered my self i will say that this is FACT, its complicated to hell but works with the ELEMENTAL CHART, STAR GUIDE, pertaining to days of the weak i will say no but this is Factual and is already being used effctivley by high lvl SCH's everywhere.
Figure Id Add in weather to this as well
Wetahter like the stars affects stats, not overly noticile but it is there. the ability to give targets a boost to there most needed stats, or at least prevent a decline is invaluable. In adition to hat weather effects stack with the star guide as well, so scholar properly using storms an infact reduce resistances to 0, can increase str's and weakness of members.
On another note its about time SE made a job that can take advantage of these 2 lost forms of status enhancement kudos to you SE. Also thanks to the started of the thread ive been waitning to spread ths knowledge but just didnt want to write a guide on the stars> weather> gear> MH> stats thing, and if i do guess i best grt sch to 75 since it now has the chance to alter all of those things.
Madawc? Is that you? :OWAR- STR- FIRE, VIT- EARTH
THF- AGI- WIND, DEX- THUNER
MNK- VIT- EARTH, STR- FIRE
BLM- INT- ICE,
WHM- MND- WATER,
RDM- exception - close stats make it universal (like its job)

Wow, that thread even had rambus posting in it.
On the note of the "studies" in that thread, that's how conspiracy theories start...
Idiot notices something. Idiot assumes it must have a deep and meaninful cause, and isn't just random. Idiot starts to create a theory to match his observations. Idiot ignores contrary evidence. Idiot massages theory to "fix" contradicting cases, usually by a "that's a special mob" or "the evidence is being hidden" line. Idiot attracts followers. Idiots flourish.

I wish the elemental resist = elemental power people would spend 10 seconds casting Barfire -> Fire to disprove their theory. :[
