It's the Ridill which has the inflated price... given D Ring's rarity and actual use compared to Ridill, it's worth the price.

D.ring's use is arguably on the same level as Ridill's, but yeah it's much rarer and it's actually a status symbol for most PLDs...so it's worth a bit more. Mind you, it's easy to get buyers for both!

Are you about to take damage? Barring things with situational Latents, or Iron Ram Lance which is otherwise a waste of a slot, it's the single best -DT% in the game. Not saying it's a fulltime piece, but shit, it's not THAT useless.

Don't get me wrong, D.ring is my most wanted item in the game for sure, I would have taken it over rank1 prize gil on Bonanza had I won; sadly, however, it's not as omgwtfbbq as it used to be, it's a useful item that has a more symbolic value than practical use.

I would argue D.Ring has maintained its value far better than Ridill since the issue with Ridill is not that it is bad, which it isn't -- it's a very powerful weapon. It's the fact that it is incredibly difficult to get vs readily obtained generally superior options (meaning Perdu Voulge etc) that leads to it being seen as kind of crappy nowadays.

D.Ring is still unsurpassed as far as overall damage reduction goes.
