We went over this a little while ago. Although its not best for y/g/k in all situations, its superior for high def/ high lvl mobs. (Which ironguy specifically deals with alot.) It beats Hauby+1 which alot of people use.

Assuming attack is uncapped on a particular mob, even with zerk/food/etc, Byrnie+1>Askar>Haub+1>Osode>Domaru for HNMs, but you also aren't going to use Byrnie+1 to TP in as most would a Haub+1. Haub+1 is worth 3M for 8%~ hitrate during TPing, not specifically because of STR+6 Att+12 for YGK, you can just get an Askorazin for that. If you're at the point that you're spending 3M on 12 attack (maybe 5 damage increase total?), you should just begin investing your gil into something that will pay higher dividends (Amano).

Not saying one should Y/G/K in Byrnie +1 all the time, this is clearly not the case, but I don't follow your logic.

Using the 3M towards actually being able to use Kaiten is of much greater concern, unless you really can't find another Byrnie+1 after you get Amano. (I'm not entirely sure of its particular rarity as it's something I never check on). It's hardly the case of gimping yourself to obtain your relic, as every SAM should have a Haub/+1 or at least Askar body (both more than suffice for YGK on the 3 mobs that your attack won't be capped) lying somewhere if you're anywhere near the point that even thinking about a relic is a reality. It's the case of needlessly spending 3M on something prior to it being particularly worth the gil spent when considering what else the gil can be spent on.

tl;dr: Yes, it is the best piece for YGK in an extremely small number of cases, but the margin by which it is the best is not worth the 3M pricetag that could and should be spent on 6 Dyna sponsors, especially considering that the alternative piece to use for YGK against those mobs should already be owned. Fuck I guess this wasn't much shorter.

And why you have Domaru in front of osode i have no clue, your giving up 2str in return of nothing.


Edit: He has haub+1/Osode/Byrnie+1 and throws gil into anything he wants for samurai. 3 mil is hardly anything to get hyped about. I don't know where your arguement is going.

It depends on how much gil you're willing to save too. The guy seems like he'll be working on Amano, but personally, I would never consider a relic before any upgrade since it's just not in my interest to save vast amounts of gil.

Nobody ever said that was true. Use what's appropriate given capped or uncapped attack.

I'd guess JOL and Kirin are two of them, don't know about the third. YGK Attack bonus means you'll be at or damn near Attack capped on nearly everything, 3 might be fewer than the truth but not by much as Gekko in particular goes.

I see where Knyghtmayre is coming from, though it's certainly not Iron's approach from what I've gathered.
