I played it on the NES emulator a long time ago.. haven't played the remade version.

Does it differ much from the original? Other than translation differences between the fan translated emulated FF3 and the new one.

i play the japanese version, its a very good remake, i think one of the best remakes i played..

the graphics are very diffrent compared to the original..
you can find some reviews or previews of the game and how it looks..

alot of people imported the game from japan, i thought i might find some here

I'm really thinking about holding off on getting Wii and picking up DS with and FF3, not to mention the loads of other games the DS has gotten lately. Contact looked a bit like Earthbound, IIRC, so I want to look into that one too.

The wifi is just to send messages to friends so you can unlock certain quests, those for Onion Knight, ultimate weapons for each job, etc.

Story is as deep as a NES game coul get, don't expect too much.

Job systems, well, I had a character stuck to one job for the whole game. When I reached the final boss, only one job hit 99, good luck trying to cap more jobs. This is without any gay extensive levelling/grinding though.

Only the top screen in which the Professor communicates with you is Earthbound style. The bottom screen in which Terry runs around in is nice graphics.

But the story is funny and weird like Earthbound's, there is definately a similarity there.

Any word on difficulty relative to the original famicom version? Probably dumbed-down for us stupid Americans like FF + FF2 for Advance, no?
