Well, the cops did exactly what they're supposed to do. The motherfucker said he "Has a gun with 13 bullets" and that he would shoot it. They released the dog, he made a sudden movement, they had to act. Dog just got caught in the crossfire.

If an angry police dog was charging at me I think I might make a few "sudden movement" as well, wouldn't you? >_>;

You're taking it out of context. When a man says he's going to shoot at you if you release the dog, then he makes a sudden movement when the dog is released... 2 + 2 = Shoot the dumbass.

He didn't make just any sudden movement.. he pointed the item he was concealing directly at the police officers before throwing it. Watch it frame by frame.

Another idiot of my street. I'm not complaining. Also they were both bluffing. Claiming not to care about the dog was part of their bluff. The did not intend to shoot the dog, as shown by their dismay and language over the dog being shot. Oh and the dog got airlifted apparently. The dog deserved the airlift more, considering, it probably provided more to society than the dead son of a bitch ever did.

The k9 officer was questioned and asked why he did not follow an order (to hold the k9 back) and he said, "It's against my policy."

They released the dog, the guy jumped up and pointed the flipflop at the police (after he threatened to shoot them if they released the dog). If you were a cop, and were threatened to be shot, and the guy jumped up at you like that; would you really just stand there and do nothing? I think you'd shoot the motherfucker. The dog got in the way, shit happends. Don't pretend to yourselves they didn't care for the dog, notice right after the dog was shot the guy was still making small, slight movements. Either it was just his muscles relaxing, or he still had a few breaths left in him. Even with that, the cops go straight for the dog first. They dont check if the guy is alive or anything, they grab the dog and get him the fuck out of there as soon as they know its safe enough to do so.
