I'd be interested to know which websites were recomended on the JP POL site. I wonder how they compare to the ones listed on ours.
Only reason I got to zam at all is because my server doesn't post on KI (good reason I never have to go to KI though).
I loved this part...We hope that our current players welcome the influx of new adventurers in Vana'diel!
they weren't recommended any sites.Originally Posted by spooky
I've noticed the JP's don't really seem to have the same kind of FFXI websites as we do. They all seem to be fairly smallscale or just blog type things.
Wikis are nice for a self-correcting process...that is, if we find n00bstuff, it will get edited unto death.Originally Posted by nekoshoonen

The admins there are real good about keeping an eye out for obvious stupidity, they know their game.
because the JP start the game knowing everything, of course.Originally Posted by layoneil
i wouldn't exactly call this small scale:Originally Posted by spooky

i think it's because they don't let Brady make their "official" guide.Originally Posted by Khamsin
The .jp POL site has 'fansite links' but a lot of those pages are social linkshells with some rudimentary information sharing, and quite a few of the links are dead/out of date. They're about as practical as the Vana'Diel Tribune. Fluff without function.Originally Posted by layoneil

Theres actually asurprising amount of new people joining the game...Originally Posted by Silmarwen
And a lot of them are naming themselves Vooomjarmov, have their 'Chocobo Trainer' title until they reach Sky, and then logout in Ulli's Aery every night!Originally Posted by Jooeetheplatypus
I meant real players. I can't make any sense of it honestly, but theres a ton of REAL new players.Originally Posted by Correction

Maybe we should try something similar. Maybe a community built around a linkshell's website with some rudimentary information sharing is the way to go. Fluff without function, but never know, it might work.Originally Posted by Correction

While somepage doesn't have "discussions" about quests, that is sometimes prefered because look at the people that "discuss" quests on alla. They spread a lot of misinformation around.
If you just want simple cut-and-dry information without random bullshit, I'd go to somepage.
