Get this: I was chaining wolves at somewhere around 160+ solo, came up against the cockatrice NM, tried to steal the egg from it, promptly died.

Do you have to load the game from a save point if you die?

I'm currently lvl20+ going to King's Tomb and havnt saved once yet. Wasnt using the PS2 for anything other than FF11 so i gave my brother my Mem cards. Don't want to get into something too dangerous at this point now, if i'd have to start the game over.

Yeah, sorry, was just kiddin. You get a game over screen then you have load from last save.
