    Blitzkrieg (Mammool tier 7 assault)

Beside being the most awesome BC in game, did anyone fell on this npc? Sorry if it was posted already, didnt see anything about it.

Obviously, you got to get a temporary key, but we never seen any drop (might be something deeper inside?)

Did anyone in your PT try trading one of the regular blackscale keys that drop from exp mobs?

key from exp mob is called Mamool Blackscale Key I thought. Its asking for Mamook blackscale key, and it says temporary item, therefore it must be found inside the assault.

We didn't have any on us when we found that npc. However, the npc ask for a "temporary" key, not a normal one. I would supose SE thought ahead like they did when you bring real pick axe in assault.

Has anyone tried to steal a key from the Mamool mobs?

I would have to guess that if the key is stolen, then it would be from the beastmen, rather then the puks or cocks.

Can you normally steal key from mamool? It's not impossible, but it's stupid if it would require one particular JA to beat this assault. I still think it has something to do with killing a particular mammool deeper inside (since the area is big and you usually stay near entrance)

We did this twice tonight, and at first I thought we should talk to the NPC before fighting incase hearing her out/clicking the cage = key becomes a temporary item from the mobs.

Now seeing how you get waves of mobs as soon as you enter the arena, we couldn't exactly drag them all to the NPC, so we just dragged the final mob to the NPC.

What we discovered is that the NPC was not up, untill we killed the last mob she popped- this indicates there's no way of interacting with her untill all 200 mobs are dead.

Clues leading to her release being part of this assault,
    - The temporary blackscale key
    - You get low points in this assault despite all the mobs you kill(660 trio no bonuses), so that'd hint towards another objective.
    - After you kill the mobs, you get a message about "Sucessfully defeating the first wave of monsters", possible second wave triggered somehow?

After the assault we had like 15mins, so we ran around everywhere, we couldn't find anything. I brought a bunch of +steal gear, couldn't steal crap 4x in my runs, nor mug, either I'm unlucky or they have nothing.

Yesterday my static refrained from using temp items and with 5 people and we did not get a free key awarded to us.

I'd like to try doing it with as few as 3 people and not using temp items but I honestly think that it would be rather difficult and could result in a wipe.

Yeah, "first" wave is the main reason why started exploring first time. There is definitively something more to this assault

Were you able to go in all 4 big room, or you went straigth to the npc? There might be a "???" up, or NM somewhereduring the first wave.

Sorry to bump this, but has anyone figured out the trick to this yet? We did it twice for the first time today, and can't figure out the trick- never got the NM to pop or the temporary key item either. Been scrounging around for info, but yet to find anything conclusive on it.

Presumably you read this from the wiki?

This information was taken from an Allakhazam post.

You will basically be rushed by about 20 weak mobs at any given time, with small periods of breathing room, until you have killed 200 of them. The cockatrice, puks, and bugards will last about 1-2 melee hits. The Mamool-ja are tougher, will hit a bit harder, and some of them are BLM. AoE weaponskills will kill everything in range but Mamool-ja. I hear good things about tier 2 -aga. Once you have killed the 200th mob, the rest will despawn and the rune will appear at the start.

As you kill them, the mobs will regularly give you temporary items (hi-/mega-/regular ethers, potions, and elixers, wings, max HP/MP drinks, etc.) These don't give you a medicated status, so use them when you need to.

After to kill a certain amount of mamool then a NM Mamool, Bluethunder Kaqool Ja, will spawn. It is possible that he will not spawn if you do not kill enough mamool before killing 200 mobs. He will drop a temporary key that opens a cage with an npc trapped inside. This will trigger a second wave of troops to assault you. The npc asks to be taken to somewhere safe, you must escort them to the Rune of release. In the next wave a NM wyvern may also appear. After 300 mobs have been killed you will be informed that "You have decimated the enemy forces" and ifyou killed both NM you will get a large amount of points. 1227 with 5 no first time bonus.

I recommend "camping" on the top ledge of one of the rooms, as the mobs will appear and rush you from the bottom. No need to search for them; they'll come to you. BST/BLU worked very well for me here; Cocoon took the already very low damage to almost nothing, I used Healing Breeze in between waves to help the other two people, and my pet killed off a whole bunch of stuff without being told to. I wouldn't count on blink tanking anything here. I don't remember what the RDM subbed, but the NIN went as WAR instead, and they both used a lot of Circle Blade.

Cleared easily with WAR/THF/BRD. Use temporary items for healing and TP as often as needed (they come in easily if you kill fast), autotarget: ON and spam AE weapon skills for faster killing.

It's funny (in a bad way), because the information basically contradicts itself in the way that it's presented. I actually wrote part of it...yes, on Alla >.> It's talking about AoE WS, autotarget, and -ga spells, but these are exactly what you don't want to do if trying to pop the NM, because you'll almost certainly kill too many non-Mamools and not get it.

None of the information is wrong, really; it should just be reformatted, and emphasize that wiping lots of mobs with AoE will work, and is easy, but will get you low points. It would be like simply accusing every single Qiqirn in The Double Agent. Yeah, yeah, I know...I should just go do it myself.

I tend not to take everything written in the wiki as law- just trying to confirm that the NM spawning is a random occurrance, and not something you need to trigger in any way, shape, or form.

The part I underlined suggests that it is NOT a random occurence. That whether or not the NM spawn depends on how many Mamool (as opposed to other types of mobs) that you kill. And if you kill too much other stuff, and not enough mamool, you wont' get an NM.

But if we kill everything that's thrown at us... and the mamool doesn't spawn still? As far as I know, nothing despawned once we killed 200 mobs, so wouldn't killing all the mamool be enough? Or should we be ignoring everything else and ONLY killing mamool?

Maybe I'm just confused how killing every mamool we get thrown at us isn't enough. o_oa

You need to only kill mamool to get the NM to spawn. If you kill too many of the other mobs and get to 200 kills before the NM pops you are sol.

still kinda confused, and i'd like to try this again with my static cause its alot of fun, despite the points if not done properly

will the non-mamool mobs despawn if you just ignore them for a bit? or should we just leave them up and let them beat on us while we kill mamool only?
