Probably only worth it against kited mobs, since they're not hitting you that much anyways. Good for Vrtra or any mob that likes to stop to cast spells (KB). There's a lot more + Undead killer effect stuff out now too, so for Vrtra you could stack up a ton of Dragon Killer + Undead Killer (w/ Paladin's natural job traits). Just need to balance it with +Enmity since killer effects aren't much good if you don't have hate. I still wanna get Flawless Ribbon though to see if its substantially better than the current +effect items out there.
Does Vrtra herself count as undead? I've never noticed before.Originally Posted by chiz
No, only its summons. Not such a big deal on the bone mobs since they die so fast, but handy on the ghost ones when they try to cast spells. Also anytime intimidation procs its like stunning a mob, so it gives you that much more time to clear some distance or for BLMs to nuke em down.Originally Posted by Khamsin
Small nitpick, but going from the mythology behind each of the wyrms, the only female one is Tiamat (well, Tarasque is supposedly female, but in this game she's a lizard).Originally Posted by Khamsin

However, on topic, I don't think Undead Killer works on Vrtra, only the summons. I've never intimdated Vrtra unless I wear Dragon Killer equipment.
It annoys me to no end when people refer to Tiamat as male. And I think Vrtra would technically be a demon according to mythology, not undead.Originally Posted by Asherek

Yeah, because they made her a lizard.Originally Posted by Not Kuno
Being a DRK i've never bothered w/ the killer earrings but i have seen them used a few times and the ratio of intimidation isn't THATTT great i would say like the majority seems to think to stick w/ the more reliable earrings ethereal FTW
In this game, no, but she's usually depicted as a dragon in other lore/folklore, hence why I said "but in this game she's a lizard".Originally Posted by Not Kuno
I ment in other lore/folklore its usually just a huge mamoth of a beast it's not really a dragon in what I've seen/read.Originally Posted by Asherek

What would I do without you Sept?
On the flipside.. are weaponskills intimidatable?
When a monster uses an AoE move like "Wing" it probably targets it at somebody..
If you manage to intimidate it, or even something like roar, that would be pretty huge for your entire alliance.
Ah, I was mostly going off stuff like this:Originally Posted by Not Kuno

And in Wikipedia, Tarasque is mentioned as being "a sort of dragon with six short legs".![]()
We can call it a tie since we're both kinda right.Originally Posted by Asherek
By the way Tzee Xicu is female, too.
Let's look at some facts:
According to the wiki, Bowser of the Mario series closely resembles a Tarasque.
Adamantoise is a turtle, like Bowser, yet is affected by Lizard Killer.
In FFXI, Tarasque is a Lizard.
So... Bowser = Turtle = Lizard = Tarasque?
I think people associate Vrtra with being a female because of the 'a' and the latin suffix.
However, Final Fantasy series also makes Garuda and Shiva a female also. I think we'd need a highly trained vetrinarian to tell us if Vrtra is male or female.
