Oh, it "increases the chance at getting good items in treasure chests." Most of the time you end up getting Knots of Rust though. It actually says that on the item, not hidden.Originally Posted by shihei

Basicaly, you get a Knot of Rust since most chests treasure (with it on) is 10%, the 90 being KoR.
I don't think you need a diamond armlet for the excalibur. There will be a chest overtop of a trap. If excalibur is there, it will be 2 chests in the same spot. You will open the first one and the 2nd one will be there and the 2nd one will always be excalibur. So I'm pretty sure you don't need a diamond armlet for that particular spot.Originally Posted by DontGiveYourPasswordOut
Speaking of Diamond Armlet, who needs to wear it? Anyone in the party, everyone in the party, or the party leader?
leader i think
Anyone in your active party.
Anyone know where I can buy Cleanse and Darkra? I'm at the end of the game and haven't seen them anywhere...
Cleanse and Darkra can be bought at the shop in Phon Coast.Originally Posted by Francisco II
Eh, I guess this would kind of be a noob question.
I'm in the 30s currently and just curious about how other people are playing the game with regards to the balance of levels between the 6 characters... As it is right now, I'm only using three characters. I realize that a majority of the people do the same thing in the other FFs and it works out fine, but I'm just curious about this FF in particular since I haven't had any troubles yet.
Would I need to have all 6 characters at about the same level for anything in particular? Or would I be fine just using 3 buffed up ones? I really don't want to have to level them all up, but if it was needed for anything it's probably best if I started now. D:
The answer is probably obvious (as with all other FFs, 3 would do), but I just want to be sure. I'm talking about the game as a whole as well, not just the storyline.
Thanks.
you really only need 3 characters, your second team is mainly there just to raise/arise/whatever your primary team if they wipe.
Yeah, I just used the extra 3 for raises/quickenings. Just max out their HP licenses, give them 3 quickenings , and give them a full stock of white magic. Can always just toss the Double LP accessory on all of them so theyll have access to this stuff ASAP.
I like to keep everyone levelled, since I want to go for the 100% clear.
All my characters are about 23, any suggestions on where to grind out some levels? I'm at Elder Wyrm and although I only made one attempt, it looked as though I did not stand a chance. I'd like some buffer levels anyway.
You dont need buffer levels in FFXII my friend
The area preceeding Elder Wyrm should be fine. Simply Silencing him might change your fortune though.Originally Posted by Pyrena

FFXII is one of the easier FF games so you might end up "coasting through the story a bit" without having to stop and grind at all.
However, virtually any area will suffice for grinding as long as you're patient enough. Just clear out the Morbols and Panthers in the first area of Golmore Jungle. You'll make a bit of coin while doing it, and might pop Midgar Zolom while you're at it.

My pleasure. Additionally, this isn't an option yet, but later in the story you can sorta "power level" individual characters by using Espers. Tchita Uplands is great for this since it has a centralized Teleport Save Point. Just drop a Mist Cart and summon Belias or Mateus (cost of 1 cart, which means you can repeat multiple times), kill everything and return to the Save Point. You'll get full exp for every kill, and if you round up a bunch of monsters, the Esper's Deathblow might blow them all away at once.
I couldn't really use this trick that much myself though, since I dumped all my Espers on Vaan, not planning to use them for anything... ._.
What's the gambit so that I can throw a Remedy at a boss, Esper, enemies while wearing this Nihopalaoa accessory?
I tried
Foe: Highest Level > Remedy
but it didn't work.
And also the gambit for syphoning mp from your Esper?
Thanks in advance.
P.S. I also tried mannually targetting Remedy onto the enemy/boss/Esper, but it wouldn't let me. This was why I thought gambit would do the trick.
