You have to use the remedy on yourself while wearing gear that will reflect it onto enemies I believe. Never done it myself, just read about it here....someone correct me if I'm wrong please.

It isn't a gambit. You need to hit L1 L2 R1 or R2... it is one of those.. but I can't remember which... and it will first let you target the pt members that are not currently "on the field", but then will let you target the mobs eventually...
I didn't read the entire thread..will later, if it's already been answered forget it. ;/
I have Balthier at lv11 with his first quickening..I tried looking at gamefaqs and didn't get it. I just spammed R2 and O because it looked like O kept appearing up. Do I click R2 once to stop the timer, then whatever button appears for Fires of War? I don't understand. ._.;
For quickenings:
Right now, since only one of your characters has a Quickening, you're only going to see one option when you go to the quickening screen - i.e. Balthier's Fires of War. You only have one "mist gauge" as well, but we'll get to that.
When you execute the quickening, you use up that whole mist gauge. A level 1 quickening uses up 1 mist gauge. Now, since your MP is drained, you can't reliably use Fires of War once it's executed. However, a "Mist Charge" can appear. This lets you execute another quickening (picked at random from the ones you have for that character) with no further MP cost. It's another free Fires of War, essentially.
Pressing R2 will shuffle through your characters quickenings, and is almost ways used when you're out of MP and used all your quickenings, in order to make a Mist Charge appear in place of a greyed out option. The Mist Charge has only a small chance of appearing, and when you see it you want to smash that button as hard as you can. You have to press it once to use up that charge, and again to actually use the quickening.
When more of your characters get quickenings, you'll have better chances of using Mist Charges, and when your characters get their second and third quickenings, they double and triple their MP, respectively, plus they add another mist gauge to your bar. Say you have 100 MP with 1 quickening - with a 2nd quickening you'd have 200 MP and 2 mist gauges, and your 3rd quickening would give you 300 MP and 3 mist gauges. With 3 mist gauges, you can use a level 2 quickening and still retain a full mist gauge's worth of MP.
Hope that helped.
Double post, my apologies.
I also forgot to mention that each character is assigned a button in your party. Vaan has always been triangle for me, Ashe has been X, and Balthier has been Circle for me. Keep that in mind when you're executing quickenings so you can pay attention to who has used their mist gauges up, and who is going to be using Mist Charges.
I killed 22 Bombshell, farming for the Yagyu Darkblade (got 3 btw). I got the weapon at chain 16, but continued to chain it hoping to farm some High Arcana also since I have the Canopic Jar key item that allows rare games to drop High Arcana.
Previously I killed the rare Bomb in Still Shrine of Miriam and it dropped High Arcana.
I'm wondering if anyone knows there's only certain rare monsters that drop High Arcana? Bombshell after 22 chains didn't drop any for me.
Do you have to get past a certain point in the story before rare games begin to drop more High Arcana? Like after Draklore Laboratory maybe?
And sorry if this has been asked before.
Not sure about mobs dropping it, but High arcana is pretty easy to make. You can steal Feystones from any elemental or entite, and I soul of thamasa drops from the oversouls in the necrohol, or can be stolen from a rare game called Ishteen in Barheim passage.
I got two very quickly by popping Ishteen in one zone, stealing, then zoning over to the next and having it pop again, and stealing again. They are two different Ishteen, each with 1 soul of thamasa to steal. Check out a rare game FAQ for the names of the two side-by-side zones where it pops.
yeah i have like 99 Arcanas, 99 feystones, and 0 Soul of Thamasa.
The Oversouls in Nadubis are stingy, very stingy.
I haven't got to the trophy rare game hunting yet. Only reached Phon Coast lol.
Once I unlocked the deeper part of Henne Mines I just had 2 people going with excal/masamune and subbed in one of my gimp characters with embroided tippet equipped. Went from lv 13 to 40 in >10 minutes.Never found having buffed back-up characters that useful but helped me beat yiazamat in about 2 hours with no reverse.Originally Posted by RKenshin
You don't need 6 characters, I only use 3 and they get the job done on pretty much everything except for Yiazmat (and that's only because i'm level 60 and probably still need to level up lol.)
You don't even need to level them up for yiazmat but towards the end on his 1x hit combos he started being a dick with endeath followed by a quick cyclone so I had to bring in reserves a few time but health didn't really make a difference considering he was Death Strikeing/zomg comboing every time.Originally Posted by Exoduso
