It does give all killers and resist all ailments. Also resists light and dark by 30!

The resist ailments would definately be sweet for whms and such if it is actually that high, considering they dont really have an end-all head piece like most other jobs. Especially with bars already at their disposal. I cant really think of too many situations where you would actually need it, but yeah. Resisting that Paralyze from loljorm wings would be great for whms who have to pass around the Paralynas.

Not to derail, but this game needs alot more status-effect enemies. Too much is focused on raw power/damage moves. More Malboro NMs, perhaps ToAU style with draw-in would be a great challenge. And make items like this useful.

If they made AoE versions of the status cures sure, but as it is now there's enough people that scoff at the notion of mages spending the 8mp on Blindna after a Hurricane Wing.

There's quite a few lethal status effects that make some fights challenging, but more often than not they're just annoyances that are even more annoying when mages are too lazy to remove them (hi2u Tebbad Wing).....

Except you would need more than a 20-40% resist rate to make it useful. Mage wont take any chance and cast silena/parlyna on tank anyway. It could be useful against enspelland maybe amnesia, but beside that, I dont see anyone use it

Alot of these "Enhances Resist" craps are useless on their own, but become pretty viable when stacked with class traits/bar spells. So something with a base of 20% should be pretty effective with any of the above.

I don't have it but everyone I hear says it sucks. Can't tell a difference. But with af2 hands and 3 upgrades in Beast Affinity I've heard good things.

This would be for tanks or someone who solos alot of mobs that do status effects. DD shouldn't be wearing this anyway. Someone else said it effected intimidation and another said resists lol. It would be just overpowered if it was both.

btw the ribbon in FF12 resists all status effects also
Do you think you could resist "Death" spell with this? Better yet, has anyone EVER resisted Death?

A friend resisted Ugg pendant NM death with Shadow Ring once.

I would pose this question to a pld with Fealty? If that works, then the ribbon would, too.

I have a question. When you get nailed by para, slow, silenced, etc is it possible to switch to enhance resist gear and still have those enhance resist traits to work? I'm asking this because sometimes you just can't be wearing enhance resist gears all the time but since resist traits lower the duration of ailments, I was wonder if it works like haste and speeds up the timer when worn after the ailment has been applied.

No, i think everything is decided at the instant the spell is cast. Once you're paralyzed or anything else, the duration seems to be already calculated.

Bit of a necro, but I was bored and went seal hunting on beast last weekend.

Hmm.. Did a lil' more testing (just got the thing this past weekend) and it seems the "Resist all status effects" is more like 20-40%. Still nothing to rely on, but it does kick in fairly often. I wonder if you added a few levels of "Magic Defense Bonus" equipment, if that would help the resist rate. And/or the light/dark elemental resistance is helping in some way.
    Out of 60 silence's from imps I had 0 resists as bst/whm. Lol @20-40%.

Doesn't Status Resist traits and equipment only effect the duration of the effect? I always thought it wasn't a "proc" vs. "no proc" situation, but it just affected the duration, and once you stacked enough gear / trait to get the duration to 0 seconds, you would get the "Resist!" message.

Try testing the duration of that Silence effect with and without the Ribbon.

Not sure if it effects duration, but I know there have been plenty of times I've resisted Slow from Ouryu's Wings on SMN and a significantly less number of times I've resisted Breakga in Dynamis and at Ouryu on RDM. I'm personally leaning towards the fact that it's an all-or-nothing trait.

Strangely, I always seem to get the "Resist!" message more often when I don't have buffs on to resist the effects (Barstone, Barpetrify), but that's just eyeballing.

Also, did you resist any of the Deafening Tantaras, or were there still no resists just like the 60 Silences it cast on you?

If it does land it's only for a split second too. That Fast Cast Boot Ant NM did it and it lasted like 4 seconds before I could move again.

I suppose enemies debuffing PCs works like PCs debuffing mobs. Full resist (didn't stick), half resist (length is halved), no resist; depending on trait and element.

I think in this kind of case it depends on MND or resist rate or something rather than your actual Resist trait. I know that while I have been Petrified by Ouryu on RDM quite a few times, I've noticed sometimes I can be Petrified longer than other people.

Fact of the matter is, Resist Traits are too random to be relied upon and mostly because we can't stack it like you can stack Barfire or Barstone gear.

From my personal experience, I think that resist job traits help you with partial resists from status effects. Generally at Ouryu my petrify will wear off noticeably faster than other people even when I have no bar spells active.

Death (as in the spell cast by Dynamis bosses and Angra Mainyu) isn't a status ailment - it's simple a spell that kills you. I know this because I've used Fealty many times on Dynamis bosses and never had it resist (and it has like a 95%+ resist rate on literally everything else).

However, Doom (like from Molechs) is a status ailment, and Fealty CAN block that.
