Truth be told, Aniero is the only personality that sounds like he should be on the show. He actually sounds like a guy that could be on the radio. He even has quips, like "DRK/SAM FTW", or like that "Rusty Paladin" guest. The others sound like they are his neighbors or something, riding his undercarriage for their 15 minutes of fame. No, they do not articulate themselves as well as you think.
You also congratulate yourself on the lack of RMT ads, yet your slogan about the "Next Level" is commonly associated with RMT, the company IGE specifically. Change it.
As for the error forum, I found it. Your average listener might not. Put more of an emphasis on to it on your Listen page, and in fact, what you should do is announce the errors, on air, and perhaps, maybe even discuss them and how the correction might effect the way people play. Not everyone goes to your site to read.
Your show also has yet to tackle any "big issues". Perhaps a serious segment even on gilbuying and gilselling, why it happens, how it happens, from both sides of the issue. You can even have an anonymous guest from an anonymous server get his guilty conscience off his chest or make a case for it or something. People want to hear hot topics sometimes, not always random stuff.
As for endgame, everyone here wants to hear more endgame because surprise, this is an endgame forum. Its no secret that endgame people tend to think endgame is one of the most important aspects of a game. Come on here and blast people for wanting to, heaven forbid, hear more of it, and you're basically asking for the gigantic faggot avatar to be associated with your name. Yes, having more topics than endgame is a good thing. No, being an ass because someone doesn't totally agree with your point of view, saying it somehow lacks substance when you don't evn know where we're coming from, is not.

The simple fact is, this is a forum populated mostly by people that have been posting on this *endgame* forum since before most of the people on the show started playing ffxi period.
I'm sorry that nobody here felt it was worth more than a quick "lol," but that's what we think of it.
And as far as telling you where you make mistakes, we'd have to sit there and listen to entire shows and write the shit down as we hear it, there's that much wrong.
Lastly, some of us might be interested in coming on the show... or we could just go post on alla.
I knew the huge angry post from LBR was coming eventually![]()
Of course it's easy to criticize a radio show from behind a computer. It's also pretty easy to dismiss all criticism because they can't get behind a microphone and 'do it themselves'.
However, you have to realize it's not simply false information that makes the show look bad. It's
Radio talk shows are supposed to be opinionated. It's what makes the hosts so interesting. But it's hard to hold solid opinions over game mechanics, most of which are fact.Originally Posted by Celeras
It's also funny to screw up and be corrected. They said "Anyone who uses Hide then SATA is a FOOL" and I'm thinking 'wtf are these guys talking about?' because it was incorrect.
However, I much appreciated how in the next show, they called out the guy who said that and rubbed his face in it. They took a screw up, turned it around, and make it funny.
But when you have this level of inexperience on a show by show basis, it starts to grate on some listeners. You have to hear these strong opinions, lamenting the existance of such awful awful players, when in fact these people themselves are completely off-base.
So, there does appear to be a lot of criticism on this board. Some of it is constructive and some lacks substance. But as far as the show is concerned, all the posts have some substance worth considering.
I do stand-up comedy on a regular basis, so I know exactly what it's like to get behind the microphone and put yourself out there. When someone tries to take you down a peg you fire right back at them. What you also do, is take it to heart (not personally) and improve based on what doesn't work. It sucks when a favorite joke bombs, but afterwards I'm a little psyched that I know it's bad and can remove it and improve the routine as a whole.
I'm going to assume the hosts are smart people. FFXI knowledge isn't the defining point of a man's intelligence. They obviously know how to run a radio show and the main guy has a professional sounding voice. However, a show about FFXI is going to have an audience of FFXI nerds. And nerds freaking hate misinformation.
10 shows is pretty damn new in my opnion, and the fact that they are getting this much attention, albeit a little negative here, should be a little exciting.
Keep true to your original intentions, but cater to your audience at the same time. Hell, how funny would it be to have a F*ck'Ups segment where you go back and replay past mistakes and each person gets a point for their error (and some ridicule from the other hosts)? At the end think up some amusing 'punishment' for the loser. Don't know a lot about endgame? Do a voice, and have a character 'call in' from Dragon Aery for a fake interview. He can give wrong info on purpose and now it's sarcastic and funny.
It's all about taking your weaknesses and making them work for you.
So there's my take on the situation. I also signed up a few days ago to be a guest, so I'm ready to put my money where my mouth is, so to speak.![]()
Rocl? Shiz? I demand a Yin-radio. t'would be great indeed.
To further illustrate elmer's point, I point you to your very own posts on your own "endgame" message board.

The "Wall of Justice glitch" was fixed very early on, only 2, maybe 3 known av kills occurred before it was fixed.
After this, people figured out that everything AV does could be locked up, at which point it could be fought normally. It was still an extremely hard fight, and took serious power to accomplish. Most AV kills, by a long shot, have not involved the wall of justice.
This is where things like the kraken drks with cor armies came in. Also, the cors would not have to get lucky every time, the 2hr simply helps the kraken drks, it is not such a key that it cannot function without it. And what? Dead? Endgame ls's attemting av are doing it without anyone that can raise? Come on now...
The most recent patch seems to have broken the "locking" of AV's abilities. This is what the original person was talking about.
Eventually the original person came back and stated that you were, in fact, wrong from the start. He then explained pretty much what I just did. You told him to state what he meant in the first place or not say it all, because YOU assumed incorrectly. And you locked the thread because you made a fool of yourself.
Those of us really participating in the endgame community didn't have to be told that, and you getting offended because of your own mistake is ridiculous. This is why people don't bother trying to explain your mistakes.
I need a link to that thread, I think I need a little more lulz.

You are really doing the show a disservice with hot-headed moderation like that.
Awww he thinks my review on iTunes is useless and no one cares about it? Well gee, mister. I'm sorry that not everyone likes your show.
Look, pal. You can keep hiding behind this bullshit you have about "Oh our show is about Rusty Paladins and shenanigans" but the fact remains: You guys are retarded. How long have you been playing this game? I'd guess and say less than a year.
And your whole thing about saying that YOUR post in this thread was the only thing of substance was pretty lame. So, everyone who disagrees with you is automatically childish and stupid? Get over yourself. Your podcast sucks and so do you.
From that forum post:
Ignoring the content of Zero's post for the moment, saying "You're not an admin so your opinion doesn't matter" has never struck me as a sign of strong leadership. And Zero, its funny, I don't see you with admin status here. I'm getting more than a bit tired of your attempts to moderate these for myself and the hosts without having any access.
I think a radio show could be interesting, but even ignoring the quality of voices used on it - because let's be honest, we can't expect to have someone with a radio-worthy voice *and* encyclopedic knowledge of FFXI to spring out of nowhere and volunteer for the job - it's the content that matters on the show. I think it's possible to appeal to multiple audiences without having to make a different station just for endgame.
If that's how it has to be, though, I hope someone from here does start a station, but out of interest in it rather than out of spite.
A few posts back in this thread:
They called Yoshi a dragon on G4 and I shed a single tear. And nerds freaking hate misinformation.
So, I've been going back and forth on whether to make an appearance here all day...so...fuck it, here goes.
Omgwtfbbqkitten is our head moderator and therefore does speak for LBR when we don't. But I'm here now and speaking for the creators and hosts of LBR, and mostly myself.
Normally, I don't care one way or the other what anyone thinks about the show. It's not for everyone and not everyone is going to get it. Big deal. As for Huggo, yes, I did personally ask him to remove ONE line in his iTunes review where he took a tactless blow at my friend, Sayl.
From my email to Huggo:
I'd say that's fairly reasonable, no?he last thing I want to address is the very last thing you
put into your review. The jab at Sayl. I would ask that you remove this
from your review. I really don't care if you don't like the show, but
there's no reason to go and hurt someone's feelings over it.
This show was created so the creators could have fun. Had we wanted to market this show to the FFXI community I would have made HUGE advertising posts on FFXI boards. As far as I know I haven't done that except at ffxionline and KI and even then they were just to try and get people to notice the site, call it an advertisement if you wish, but the fact is we don't see this as a vehicle to inflate our egos but rather something we do for fun and if people happen to like it then great. If not then whatever, I'm not too concerned. I also don’t think our little show warrants 4 pages of what I see as drama. If you don't like the show...don't listen. It's pretty simple.
Also, I want to thank those that provided good criticism, albeit they were tad rude in places, but overall some good points have be raised and we will definitely take those into consideration for the future. We have not gone in depth into endgame because we don't want to leave lower level players in the dark. I'm sorry it's taken 10 episodes to try and provide some context for endgame shit but just try and remember that not everyone has several 75 jobs. Fuck, I don’t have ONE 75 job, thank you very much and if that makes me a noob, then a noob I shall be. Fact is I don't have as much time as I'd like to play the game and therefore don't participate in lots of endgame...hell, I'm lucky if I can get on for two hours at a time.
I sincerely apologize for the misinformation. We do our best to research what we haven't experienced ourselves, which admittedly is A TON, please feel free to correct us...and if we really get that much shit wrong, try explaining it to us. Email us, correct us on the forums, PM us shit I don't care, but if you feel the information we provide is incorrect then CORRECT US. We are human, we make mistakes! I apologize for misinformation and will every time. That is our fault and there is no excuse to give misinformation.
I'm not a big forum troll so if you would like to contact me regarding anything please feel free to email me at mailto:[email protected] otherwise, I invite you to participate in our community at LBR, the more people that participate the better the show will be.
-Aniero
You say that but then you say in one show how all the Merit II ailities aren't worth it. Methinks you need experience at that level to make such judgments., I don’t have ONE 75 job, thank you very much and if that makes me a noob, then a noob I shall be
A moderator should generally be cool-headed and able to take insults with a grain of salt; ideally your hosts should speak for themselves, and letting snippy comments such as "some spineless review on iTunes no one cares about" represent them may not be the best of ideas. I haven't read the review so I can't comment on whether it's spineless or not, but that's really not the point.Omgwtfbbqkitten is our head moderator and therefore does speak for LBR when we don't.
Fair enough, but things tend to spread on the internet, so you really shouldn't put anything up there if you're not prepared to have it insulted. Are a lot of comments in this topic cruel and uncalled for? Sure. Are they still entitled to their opinions? Yep.This show was created so the creators could have fun.
If you're looking for ways to improve your show, you might want to pick up a few endgame players - not the bitter sarcastic ones, but players with a solid background and knowledge about multiple jobs - just for a different perspective and for fact checking. I still think you can talk about endgame without isolating the rest of your audience. I read endgame forums back when I was 30 so I would have something to look forward to. ;xAlso, I want to thank those that provided good criticism, albeit they were tad rude in places, but overall some good points have be raised and we will definitely take those into consideration for the future. We have not gone in depth into endgame because we don't want to leave lower level players in the dark. I'm sorry it's taken 10 episodes to try and provide some context for endgame shit but just try and remember that not everyone has several 75 jobs.
This is a better approach than simply complaining about lack of substance or immaturity, so kudos. Just keep in mind that if you're making yourself any sort of public figure, even if it is only for fun, you're going to be judged. Choose your words carefully. Exactly. I said before that I assumed you host guys were intelligent people, and your response to this thread, Aniero, has proven you are. However, omgwtfbbqkitten (a piece of me dies every time I type that) has proven to be the opposite.Originally Posted by Malaquist

On the one hand, you guys welcome corrections and criticism. On the other hand, the head moderator edits posts and locks threads that correct him. It's a bad juxtaposition that I feel has unfortunately turned your well written rebuttal on these forums into damage control for omgwtf(cry)bbq's attacks against everyone.
I apologize if it feels like I'm getting a little hands-on with all my long-winded replies and advice. It's just that I have real-life firsthand experience with a lot of this stuff so it sparks my interest. If you guys totally sucked balls I wouldn't bother but the concept and the talent I see gets me all talkative and eager to help out.
So, this is what I wrote in iTunes:
I caught one episode where they were talking about the patch in which SE put in the LC and C assaults and Aniero says "Oh boy is it more wallbreaking?" That's basically what I meant by that line.99% of the time, these guys have no idea what they're talking about. I don't think I can really take it seriously. You have a group of people trying to tell you about the game, and yet they haven't even experienced it. For example, you can't generalize all of assault as "wall breaking". That only shows your lack of knowledge and expertise. In my opinion, they need to get their facts straight before making up a bunch of useless information. Finally, why should I have to listen to these guys when I can just go to a real FFXI forum and get better information? (Without having to listen to Sayl's annoying feminine voice.)
I won't change my review at all. LBR can go fuck themselves.
