Been running around the Sochen Cave Palace with key in hand trying to open said door .. its that room with a 4 way cross in it .. the one and only walkthrough i could find for this says to get to the area from the south, enter the arena/circle area from the east, then go south > west > north > east..but..the door is on the west..and it doesn't go into much depth..btw this is the fight thats required for Yazimat i guess..so uh, does anyone know like any exact details on how to open this door or something? it's been driving me crazy for the past hour or 2..thanks in advance if anyone responds.

I came from the north (gate crystal), entered down into the center (not walking around the doors of hours) went into the east then clockwise around and it worked. You end on the east and hear a chime, and head straight across and it should be openable.

Do the hunt for Vyraal in balfonheim, it's the viera in the Whitecap bar, the monster appears in the north part of the cerobi steppe I think. Then after finishing the hunt and talking to the viera again. I think you have to go to cerobi steppe again and find this old guy in that same area iirc, do this by checking the wind mills. I can't remember if there was a step in-between though :/

He gives you the key to the door behind the ascetic's door, to the Hall of the Wroth God. /epic

yeah, kill the vyraal and then check windmill number 10 in that same area, this old guy appears and you give him the scale and he gives you the key

edit: and this fight pisses me off. i've been fighting for like 4 hours now and he has like 20 life bars still to go -_- I wonder if 56 = bad level to fight him because im like so out of ethers and supplies >.>

It took me around 2 hours and I think my party was 67, but besides the random death effect on his attacks it wasn't too too bad. Keep everyone separated to avoid stopga on judgement, try to alternate your heavy mp spenders, and never have 2 people casting buffs at the same time and if you can persevere to the final stage it's in the bag, he just spams invert>ga magic, stage before that is stone breath spam. Stick with it :D

oh, i guess i'm on the last stage pretty much then, all he's been doing lately is invert > firaga/blizzaga/thundaga and then occasionally judgement .. but his death effects are going off like mad now >.>

This fight was really easy when i killed him at 65. I had 2 DD and 1 healer with faith rod and mag+ equipment. My healer's curaga healed for like 8k hp lol. Didnt even need to do reverse tank or have demon shield to absorb darkga. I was expecting more and I find it odd that I found ultima harder than this guy. Also like that other guy posted, have the healer syphon the tank when his MP gets to 50% to be safe.

There was no way I could've beaten Fafnir without reverse at Lv55, he was probably the most hardcore boss I've faced so far.

oh, if I leave the entire sochen cave palace will the hell wyrm fully regen his HP? because now to get my MP back I have to zone out and kill like everything 10 times since i'm out of ethers and stuff

His HP wont regen at all, you can make a trip to the guide stone upstairs if needed.

edit: holy shit. i decided to save it and take a break but when I came back after like 3 hours away from the place his hp was still the same..thats SO awesome XD

edit2: fuck yeah i won after 7 hours..now umm..is it even going to be possible to damage yazimat at level 56 lol..?

im fighting Hell Wyrm right now, he has about 3 bars left and is going CRAZY. He wont pay attention to Decoy and is spamming Invert > aga. im at 1 hour 5 minute mark so far, I meant this just to be a test of the Tournesoul but not its aparent that I would stand a chance without it. very fun fight overall.
