First off, Steal/kill Leamonde Entite(Elemental) for the feystone in Nabudis Deadlands the area south of the TelePoint. Steal/kill it then zone twice(Rinse&repeat) Double zoneline is really close so its easy.

While at Nabudis deadlands, kill the emeralditans in that same area for Scarletite. Its not that rare of a drop, I got all mine before I even got all my Feystones when Feystone was the main reason I was there.

Soul Powder/WarBand/Dal Steel is the easiest part >_> You can steal/zone them from the Rare Game HuntClub thing.

Dalmasca Steel can be stolen from Anchang, the NM in Paramina Rift, which it will respawn. There's a Hunt Club one whose name is nearly identical, but won't respawn, but I think you can steal it from that to.

I've been doing all of that and still not one drop. Yes I have all the grimoires(sp)

This might clear up a few things.

1) The best spot to camp oversouls is the third area from Salikawood in the Necrol for 2 reasons:

A) They pop there frequently (I have found they mostly pop when your pt is being teamed up on by 2-3 mobs).

B) Also after you kill 5-6 of them (keep running around in that 3rd zone till you do) an NM Horse pops. This horse drops Grand Armor which has the highest defense in the game. Dont expect a great droprate as I was like 1/10 though... However if you do this you will definitely see a bunch of Souls of Thamasa (although i dont suggest you make high arcana).

2) As for War God band, as people have mentioned before stealing and double zoning from the hunt NM >>>>>>>>>>> killing the horses in Nabudis. I got 6 in like 22 minutes.

3) Dont bother making High Arcana. Once you have the canopus (sp) pot, There is an NM in the Waterway that pops pretty frequently. I believe its right past door from sluice gate 4 but not certain. Anyway I killed it, double zoned, killed it (while stealing) and got like 6 High Arcana in 10 minutes.

4) Just keep chaining Cerberus... Took me a total of chain 250+ to get all the hells gate flames. Just keep trying you will get them.

5) I got all my items for the Tournesol and didnt poach a thing. I wouldnt recommend it unless you have a really good gambit for it, but I find that a double hit often kills the mob before I can poach.

How do you get the Vorres thing to spawn in Nabudis? Btw im in the hunt club.

Well according to gamefaqs, you aggro a dark elemental in that area (outside fury's room)

I'm gonna have to agree, the guide needs to be updated because making high arcana seems pretty silly.

I couldn't find the NM mentioned in the waterway, so I just stole all mine from an Esper, Adrammelech. It is easy because you don't have to double zone or any crap, you just zone/steal zone/steal.

Out of 82 attempts I got..
65 Pebbles
12 Capricorn Gems.
5 High Arcana.

I got the 5th one on the last attempt, so its probably a 5% steal rate. Pretty fucking crappy, but worlds better than hunting oversouls and stealing from elementals which are not 100% anyway.

The 'strat' guide says all sorts of mobs drop High Acrana afte you get the Canopic Jar, so i'm sure there is something a lot easier out there.

I went about 0/6 on that Drowned NM in Garamsythe before giving up. I was long past Addramalech and you can't steal and run from Chaos.

From what I've seen, you only need 3 high arcana total for tournesol, 2 if you get the empyrial soul from clan rank 8 and the serpentarius from either zodiark or from montblanc after getting 13 espers. Just sell all the other components for a serpentarius and an empyrial soul at the same time and the high arcana will count for both.

And you get an empyrial soul for a clan rank and another for getting 4 espers. Presto, no soul of thamasa required.

Edit: damascus steel can also be stolen from bluesang in Cerobi Steppe and Anchag in Paramina Rift, and Scarletites can be stolen from Aspidochelon in Cerobi Steppe. I also stole one hell-gate flame from Enkidu during the second Gilgamesh fight, although that probably isn't worth listing.

FUCK I am so stupid.. Just noticed I had my thief gloves on someone who wasn't even in my party that whole time.. You might be able to get a better steal rate with those on..

Vorres is being stupid. The first time I tried to pop him, he poped easily within a few seconds of carrying the dark elemental, now 2 tries after and no go. Dark elemental is following me, but Vorres isn't poping =/

I just spent about 3 hours in Necrohol getting 2 Soul Powders... I found that you have to run around the whole area (from the center, 2 rooms in any direction) in front of the door training a Dark Elemental... he seems to have a rather wide spawn area and is rather finicky. ><

I dont know, he was an easy pop for me both times... Just dragged south :/

For Scarletite just chain the turtles one pops south of the gate crystal and another two screens south of the gate crystal. Enemies repop automatically after you zone two screens away so chaining high is not really a problem. The Leynir dropped them pretty often got six by chain like 50, just kill the 3-5 leynir then go two screens south then right back up. As for elementals you can just steal from them until you do not want to anymore, you steal, then zone. The elemental will be neutral again when you zone back and can steal from it again(worked wonders when I needed a gnoma for ultima blade)

Stole a Serpentarius and a High Arcana from Zodiarc. He was being cool to me, knowing how much of a dick he was gonna be when I got him to 5%.

After chaining to 232 to get my fucking wargod's bands.. I decided I was tired of 'common drops' and wanted a sure bet for Dalmasca Steel.

There is a rare game called Anchag in the Rift. You just clear out the Kerydine Glacier of all mobs, zone and renter and Anchag will appear. He pops with another rare game so I just set my gambits to steal from party leader's target and browsed the web.

Didn't take too long, no random bullshit..

This thing ended up being more work than it looked like.. its like they took the worst parts of FFXI and ran with it.

Mine was less hard than I expected. Mostly because I expected it to be similar to getting all 7 ultimate weapons in FF10. I chained 130 leynirs or so and got 3 bands, then stole the fourth from the rare horse mob in nam-yensa. The most tedious part was of course the cerberus slaughtering. I poached about 20 of them and got nothing but pelts, so eventually I just gave up and chained them. Serpentarius was the easiest part, even without reaching zodiark. Almost every steal from that wildsnake gives a skin, and the eyes from the basilisks aren't too rare. As I mentioned earlier, damascus steel can be stolen 100% from the rare trophy mob north of the save crystal/anchor in cerobi steppe.
