Drk weapon question

Don't you think that could be a product of only going to events using your DRK if you already know that DRK+KClub is gonna be the best option? I mean, I don't know, so maybe that's just wrong and you use your DRK for most things. But I'd think that in most cases you'd go as another job unless you're specifically needed on DRK, using a Kraken.

Well not exactly, since I don't own a kraken of my own the only time youll see my DRK with oner is when someone in the shell lets me borrow theirs. I admittedly use DRK pretty sparingly compared to warrior or even samurai but in the cases I do, I tend to opt for spinning slash due to the reliability on damage. I think the onlY LS event I would use a scythe on as DRK regularly is dynamis and I might as well save myself the 7k investment in that case.

Widely confirmed, but I stand corrected. It's not 75%, but somewhere between 70% and 75%. I was merely throwing out a number I saw in a BG post long ago, because I knew it was much higher than the Recast Haste cap %.

I'd love to do parser tests to get the exact the melee haste cap (which is estimated between 70 and 75%), but sadly, I don't have an Apocalypse or Black Belt (or a 75MNK >.>).

Nope, I think you are in denial about FFXI in general. Not only about how much skill it requires but how fun it is to play. You torture yourselves complaining about the state of your jobs, RMT, sea, 3 kings, botting, etc. Yet you still play almost everyday and try to sugarcoat relic weapons, which are a huge joke and yet another reason why SE can't raise the level cap.

I have played sparingly during the last 3 months and all I miss about the game are my friends (most of which I still talk to). Its not just BRD either, I can login and play my RL friends 75 RNG that I talked into reactivating or my friend's 75 MNK. Those jobs aren't fun either, both very repetitive actually. This game is a glorified chatroom almost.

You can switch the THF into the alliance at 2% or whatever. They can sit on the sidelines and then use their TH goodness once its needed. Yes TH works when THF is put in at the last second.

Or you can actually have THFs like my own shell has done many a time on Kirin, Nidhogg, whatever and still crack out awesome damage with WSs.

I think you're hating on relic weapons a lil too much. Yeah it takes forever to get one done but the end result I've seen with Chiz's dagger is really damn good. My own THF is decently geared with 3/5 Homam, Acc Gear, Breeze Gorget ect ect and I still know I can do better.

I was called out by a friend to help on their LSs 1st Genbu and on the way I accidently subbed NIN instead of WAR so I was cringing at my lack of damage but I was still doing strong WSs thanks to the BRD in my PT stacking attack songs.

Anyways don't hate on the man because he ended up busting his ass for a weapon for his favorite job and being able to use it from 100% to 0% fights and do well. I'm only on Stage 1 on my own Dagger but I'm looking foward to when I can actually use it all the time the stronger it gets.

The difference between thf and sam on HNM is pretty minimal, except one is easier to pull off than the other. Seriously, just throw a Hagun at any sort of semi-decently equipped SAM and you're good. And unless it resets hate, hate control should be pretty much a joke at this point for a half decent shell with half decent tanks. We've come a long way from evasion ninjas and E staff bloodtanks, c'mon.

Also, kinda hard to back up the relic being good for HNMs (especially zilart ground) if you don't really do that sort of thing (sup aurik/wafik).

BTW, Eternus is still on topic because this is a topic originally about spending gil on a Kclub or relic scythe... so the discussion on how worthwhile the relic weapon really is in comparison to buyable shit or even other relics applies.

For HNMs, I remember Brennon telling me she was able to do some consistent (pretty good actually) damage to faf/nid after she got hers, the only problem she ran into her first time was not having an adequate sub for it (she was on /whm)...not sure if she ever did go as /war to faf/nid and was able to melee them, but one thing that plagues Mnks is the fact that we get hate too easily and would die before we can do as much dmg as someone going /thf or thf main to ta tanks (Mnk tp gaining and then ws with no form of hate control with war sub = dead too fast). I guess it really depends on the ls you are with, if the tanks are great at hate holding, maybe that would change.

Last I saw is Spharai pulls 2-4% difference in merit pts at best. That doesn't matter, MNK doesn't have a Kraken to argue with on HNM. MNK is so damn misused on HNM, don't want to even start. I bet Aurik still goes Chiblast MNK to Kirin lolz.

Kraken DRK owns the hell out of HNM and Scythe is just as situational especially with Catastrophe. Guillotine is still better for lolscythe TP burn xp/merits. Wouldn't be surprised if 2x axe DRK/NIN parses better in xp than scythe DRK. But that doesn't matter anyways, who the hell spams guillotine on HNM anyway? Case in point is that DRK with scythe use Spiral Hell on HNM, and GS use Spinning Slash usually. You don't need Apocalypse to do that. You do need KC to assrape HNMs for 10k+ damage in less than a minute.

we have done this by doing fragmentation, Asura>SB at fafhog, mnks actually do very good dmg on fafhogg. and thanks to the loluseless ta+thf dmg they can actually survive the fight.
