It is not impossible to beat his second form in the mid 40s. I did it with all my chars at 43. I used the neophala or whatever + remedy on enkidu right at the start then worked it over. Gilg himself was tough and took quite a bit to kill. I only used one quickening chain at the end when he goes immune to dmg but didnt kill him with it. I used about 20 Xpots and 25-30 downs or so. Great fight.

Yeah, a lot of you are overleveling...makes a lot of the fights a lot easier than they should be :X. I did gilga around 44ish. Fun fun fight.

although i try not to use reverse in most of the fights too but... i challenge you to fight omega without using it XDDD

and yah i got to 55 for the fight because of farming for the 600k tournesol >.>

That's the other thing, I didn't do anything with deathbringers at level 10 or that shit, my crap all came from shops except a francisca and a morningstar I got from random drops. :o

I'm still working on tournesol and my main group is 76 >_> lol

What exactly does reverse do? havent used it yet. And using that remedy thing saves the time of having to cast slow, blind, poison and other things. So why not use it.

reverse makes damage cure you and cures damage you, seems to last a short time

I used Zodiac Spear and a Berzerked Basche as my main DD, and just had Vaan decoy tank with DB and shield. Fran was my healer/dd.

I plan on putting fran or vaan with genji gloves and masamune (maybe fran so she gets mp back faster for healing, but idk).

Is there ANY reason to get tournesol ?

I mean, Bashe already has Zodiac spear. I thought maybe vashe could get the masamune and genji gloves to get mp back fast and throw out the shield for the HARD fights that you cant block anyways.. That leaves Fran, which i was planning on just giving the end game bow too.

Should i just give vaan the Tournasel? Or give Fran the sword? Does it combo alot more then the spear?

Was thinking Spear, Tournasel, Masamune. Or is bow on one of them just fine?

I agree DeadLegend. I didn't really intentionally over level, it just kinda happens. Whether it was because I walked EVERYwhere during the Story Missions, even maps i knew were out of the way... or because there were times when i wanted new gear and didn't quite have enough so i had to farm some gil. Usually i get sidetracked too, trying to find a Map Urn for a past zone that I never came across, and eventually running into some big nasty mobs i hadn't seen at all... and killing them... a lot.

Its just easy to wander off and do any number of things, and its not like i am gonna equip the Firefly while i am doing it =P

Even if i am a bit over leveled, its still a LOT of fun, and there are tons of ways to challenge myself intentionally. =)

That's one of the best things about the game, I felt compelled to go to every end of every map. The world is so full.

after dying to gilgamesh2, i went and lvld a bit so his lvl 2/4 spells wouldnt hit me, and i put on the anti disable accessory on 2 chars (since that was a lvl 3 spell)(bubble belt on 3rd since i couldnt get the spell yet)

I think the esper with the lvl based spells was one of the most fun fights in the game, lvl prime death was pretty cool. I ended up doing that fight with 2 members since 2 of my chars were prime lvl and 1 wasnt, so i'd keep 1 prime 1 unprime in and fight so i wouldnt have 2 raise 2 chars each lvl prime

True and true! Exactly on both counts, I am still pretty much loving everything new i run into, and often have to actually think about what I want to do. Espers, Hunts, Marks, NMs, Gear, and on and on and on.

The mobs are pretty incredible too, the first time I saw a Turtle i was pretty impressed, and... certain mobs roaming about in the Uplands are pretty cool as well. :wink:

But err... yeah... its very hard to balance everything so that it is always a challenge. Maybe that is why there is one Optional Fight that puts you up against a mob with 6 Mil HP =P

I nearly shit myself when I finally killed Enkidu, finished the last speck of his hp with my first quickening chain ever lol. At that point I was ready to UNLEASH THE FURY on gil, and I think he was scared. Then he got in his mack truck.

I think it's cool they add such a number of bosses with high strength. FF7 had 2 weapons, FF8 had Ultima and omega (I can't remember which is whichi but the underwater one is kinda easy, the ultimecia castle one is tough though). 9 had fucking ozma give me a break. 10 was really cool I think, the arena Original creations were all asskickers unless you leveled your guys for 400 hours and reshaped the grid. 12 seems to follow in 10's steps having faf, gil2, kb, hellwyrm, yiaz, shadow seer, pylrastr, zodiark, and omega all awaiting your team, and while some aren't too too bad if you level like a freak, they're still hardcore endurance fights where a slipup 90% into the fight can equal a failure. Fighting these dudes is like fighting ffxi kings for the first time. I haven't confronted or even located Omega as of yet but I expect it to be major fun.

LOL jesus, i finished Draklor lab and it was overkill, and my guys are like 50-52ish. Cid was the biggest pushover ever lol
