alot of girls at my school have been getting tattoo's lately, its becoming more of a bandwagon thing..

i've met like 5 girls that have them right above their asses, and when say 'trampstamp' they freak out and stop talking to you all together <_<

then they go around to all the guys and say "you wanna see my tatto" as they turn around and lift up their shirt... lol

edit: yes tattoos are stupid for the sake of getting attention.. but to remember a loved one or something.. its cool

Yeah well I didnt make this thread to get attention, just to compare art. As a good friend of mine once said: "Getting a tattoo is like hanging up a nice picture on your wall." And also I wanted to get ideas maybe this was the wrong place for it.

No tats no piercings. My sister has enough for the both of us I guess. I had thought about it, but then decided against it since seems like everyone has them now and i'd be more unique if I didn't have them. :D

Have a friend who has two sleeves (Tats down both arms from shoulder to wrist) and a few assorted. I have a kanji character I got on the back of my neck from when I was working in a record store, but I've wanted another.

One of my friends' friend was a tattoo artist and he was telling stories to us. He refused to do small tattoos (Quarter Sized) because if you couldn't commit to it being larger than that you really didn't want one to begin with. He also refused to do maple leafs (we live in Canada) because it was too touristy/typical.

Tip for women reading, if you want to be original, don't get a tattoo:
- nape of your back
- ankle
- hip

For everyone:
- No tribal
- nothing 'timed' (like the hellsing tat, that will be regreted in 10years when no one heard of the series and you have to explain why you have an anime tat.)
- Nothing small
- never spontanious

An artist I went to once told an 18-yr old (don't know about other places, but tattoo age is 21 here), "Put the picture of what you want on your refrigerator, where you'll see it every day. If you still want that when you're 21, then go for it."

I have a tat on my lower back, but it's a whole Lion King mural made up of a bunch of the characters. It's not finished.

Going with the theme, I have a gigantic Stitch in the middle of my back "holding on with his nails".

I like tribal, but I recommend to everyone not to get anything off the wall of the shop, tribal or anything else. My tribal is 100% original. I just told the guy to make something up.

I'm pretty sure you talking about the episode where the prison guy had to get a MRI. He had prison made tattoos which are lead based. Seeing as a MRI is a big magnet, it ripped the lead in the ink on his skin out. Very Old tattoos sometimes have metal based paint (before they were government regulated for safety).

If you got a tattoo today from a reputable shop, you would not have any problems getting a MRI.

It's hard to find girls who don't have them. Don't stop telling them either, when they show me I make sure to say "Nice tramp stamp" each and every time. Get a punch to the arm and a dirty look every time, but they know I'm right. If you don't wanna say tramp stamp, just say "Ohh a target" and see if they get it.

Small tattoos are great, and spontanious are even better. My ex-gf (who Im still emo over) got me in to the whole tattoo scene, and I love it. Me being a nigra and growing up in the city, I have many nicknames, and I have a few of them on my wrist and such. I like words the best. Like, for example, I have "Hell Hath No Fury" on the lower part of my right wrist.
And the kanji for life and death on my left and right wrists respectively. On my upper arm, (ya'know where everyone else has them) I have Gouki's symbol (The one on his back after winning or doing IHM) on my arm, and surronding that my ex's and my name in a circle around it writen in japanese. Seeing as how many of um....my people, can't read japanese, I can get away with her name! All of those were "Lets go get a tattoo" instances. Nothing planned sans the one on my upper arm. In fact nothing was every planned...Everything was spur of the moment (emo /wrists) Next one is going on my neck. My real name.....Gangsta.

I got one tat. Got it last year after 21st B-day.. A picture of a sword with 2 black roses on top of It. If anyone here reads Dragonlance, especially the Dragons of Winter Night, theres a pic of It in the book.. I'll see If I can find one online of It

I've got two tattoo's, an armband i got on my left arm when i was 16, cause i had wanted one since i was like 11, and i got another one when i was about 20 or so on my right arm, something i semi-designed myself of a trojan helmet/head.

And i lol when people say crap like, "you're gonna regret having that when you're old"

fat chance, when i'm older i'm sure i'll have more important things to worry about than whether or not i have some ink on my body. Like whether or not i can still make it to the bathroom on time.

Kaiseran, just to clarify. What you described IMO doesn't sound like what I meant by small and spontaneous. In the text I mentioned tattoos the size of a quarter, if it's that small you're getting it so you can hide it. If it's that small, you don't want it and will regret getting it.

By spontanious I mean if you're walking down the street, see a tattoo shop and decide "Why not". This more applies to your first tattoo than if you already have one. If you don't know what you want, look at different designs, pick a spot and find a good studio, then you will regret it again at some point. Repeat people understand what it means to have something on your skin forever.
