I have Kanji for Life and Death on the outside of my forearms (almost 5 years ago) and another on the back of my right calf:

My friend (who happened to be the tattoo artist for that) got Veritas on the back of his left calf, those were done almost 4 years ago. The top of the A was still kind of red because of how my shorts would rub against it while it was healing, it's also been touched up since then (thickened, mainly).

The only thing I can offer anyone thinking of modifying their body, be it piercings, tattoos or anything else - is my own personal experiences. When you change your body, when you take control and express yourself in the most primal and intimate way - you gain a new understanding of yourself and your body. Yes, it fucking hurts (some places more than others, depending on nerve endings -- if the sun doesn't shine there on a typical basis, or it's on a bone, it'll hurt more). You have to earn this transition. Noone can do it for you. If tattoos didn't hurt, more people would have them. It's a sensation you'll enjoy. I can't simply tell you these things - you have to experience them.

I'll say this much; No woman has EVER satisfied me as deeply as tatooing has. Don't be afraid of the needle, it's like nothing else you'll ever feel in this world - and that's sorta cool, isn't it? Sex feels amazing, and if you're in love, it's almost overwhelming ....but getting a tattoo hurts you. So how is it better? When it's over, it's yours forever - and every time you look in the mirror you're that much closer to being the person you are, inside, and it's something you did, not fate.

It's a spiritual awakening that you will cherish...and want again.

Down at the country club we have something just like that, its called a gym.

but a piece of advice for anyone looking to get a chinese character tattoo-ed...

please at least know the meaning of the word before you get it tattoo-ed on.

friend of mine in college had 桌 on her right arm. while it may look cool at first glance...

its the chinese word for "table".

Up here in good ol' Canadia the age of which you are able to get a tattoo is 16. So... you can only imagine how many 16 year olds there are that have at least a single tat.

I, myself, wouldn't ever get a tat, but I do enjoy some of them. Like, to the DJ guy that posted the one of his arm freshly done, I like that one. It looks pretty cool.

i had always wanted cutesy littly angel wings on either shoulderblade (little ones, slightly larger than an open matchbox i'd say?), but i had struggled with how they would look to other people, and that the art was just for me~ so i figured i'd get them in a ltan like half a shade darker than my skin that people couldnt really pick out from far away (not that i walk around half naked or anything >.>) but i didnt really want anything harsh and dark contrasting to my skin

if i ever decided to get a tattoo, i'd get those (*'-')
