Student gets tased in UCLA library o.O

Asshole or not, there was no reason that I saw for the police to escalate the use of force on a nonviolent subject. One tase might have been justified to get him to cooperate, but from the video it sounded like he was tased 3-5 times. The taser causes intense pain and can induce temporary immobilization depending on how long it is applied. The taser came into use among police departments because it's a nonlethal weapon that doesn't cause lasting injury, unlike nightsticks and rubber bullets, and it's discriminatory, unlike pepper spray and tear gas. However some police departments took this to mean that the taser can be applied more frequently and (possibly) at a lower threshold than the aforementioned weapons. That is why it's very worrisome every time an incident like this occurs, it's more evidence of an increasingly brutal police force.

I would have told them to fuck off too in the same situation. Just because he said fuck off doesn't mean he was saying "HOLY HELL I'M GOING TO STEAL YOUR WEAPONS AND HURT YOU" and was not enough to warrent another tase, let alone 3-4 more.

You said your currently attending college nynja...are you a freshman? If not, you've been through that. Now imagine that its midnight, you forgot your ID, you're working tediously on what ever it is you're working on...before you know it, your being kicked out after paying 4 years of tuition, and now handcuffed. But there is one time when you shouldn't argue about the law and make a stand, and that time is when the police escort you out of a building.

So he was walking out of the building when the cops got him. Maybe they grabbed him rough, who knows? You let them escort you out of the building and if they treated you rough, you file a complaint. You don't complain to the people who are treating you rough and you don't yell 'get off me'.

First of all, I do my work at home...so yea.

Secondly, how can you forget your school ID. I could be wrong, but most men carry a thing called a wallet. looks kinda like this:

You then take the wallet, full of ID cards and money and extra stuff, place it in, usually your, back pocket, and proceed with your day. Profiling is done because people who dress/act a certain way commit more crimes.

as far as me forgetting stuff:
I leave my house with four items: cell phone, keys, wallet, mp3 player. Keys go into my right pocket, wallet goes into my right-back pocket, cell phone goes on my belt, right side, mp3 player goes into my left pocket or hoodie. If I forget something, I am breaking routine.

Inside my wallet I keep my ID's at all times. The only time they are not in my wallet are when I need to use them.


However, I dont consider an ID a "small item". Its something you should have on you.
