Sorry if I haven't posted a graph like you have (a graph you can't even figure out, at that). I've made 6? 7? posts, and you single out one and freak out that it's all I've said in the whole thread.
You're trying anything now to 'win' the thread. I can't wait for you to make a comparison to Hitler next.
Go study your thread-winning graph, the answers are right there on it.
It's a discussion. The only one trying to "win" the thread is you.
Sheeny did contribute something to this thread: his belief that any single cop is more trustworthy than any number of college students.

Yes, it's pure fucking stupidity, but hey it's a "contribution," if only to elicit laughter from all that read it.

Sheeny, seriously, stfu, and go back to your hole.

Nothing i mention on what type of tazer is being used. It could be the kind you riot police have(the ones that shoot out the two attachments) or the any old kind. maybe depending on what one was used would explain a bit more in his reactions.

It doesn't have to be written somewhere for it to be an obvious concept.

If newtons law of gravity wasn't written down, does that mean that it's not there and we should ignore its principles?

Whether or not the tazer is written into a continuum does not mean that it isn't excessive force. I'll tell you what though, go get a tazer and use it on yourself if you think it's so painless and maybe it'll just tickle.

Again, according to FBI standards seen here

The graph doesnt jump from compliant to deadly force. What it means that the suspect is doing one of three things. If they are compliant, then obviously you do not have to do anything. If the are non-compliant, it then goes into how you should handle the situation, if the suspect is using deadly force, then you would go into a whole different situation, hence why it doesn't go further. Sorry if you couldn't figure that out, i didn't think it was that confusing. What are you talking about making crazy comparisons to hitler? Where have i made any comparisons? I believe that ive adamantly stated many times in this thread that it is very difficult to draw parallels with this situation. Ive said that every situation is different, and should be handled accordingly. Comparing this to other videos just doesn't apply. So what, there's a fat guy who is non-threatening getting tazed...ok, does that make it right? It depends if it follows the standards set fourth, which is the graph. The only arguable point is whether the cops seen it necessary to taze the guy multiple times while he was handcuffed, since he obviously wasn't dangerous. We know he broke the rules, we know he was a prick, we know he was being a baby...but you cannot taze every prick who bitches and cries patriot act, there are standards that must be followed, and the question is, did the cops follow that procedure. It would seem to me that they didn't.

i've been taser'd, shot w/ rubber bullets, a stun gun, and pepper sprayed. All of the above hurt like hell... but other than the stun gun, none are excessive force. pepper spray hurts not only the person its used on, but everybody in the area chokes on it. does that mean cops shouldnt use it?

if he 'posed a threat' they'd be using guns instead of tasers. a taser is a control device, not a defense mechanism.

I have been taser'd, been pepper sprayed (yay DMB concerts), and while i haven't been shot with a rubber bullet or beanbag i have been hit by a 96 mph fastball which i'm guessing is much the same and hurts like hell for a while.

Of all of those, the taser hurt the worst. pepper spray gives blurry vision and can cause you to choke and/or dry heave but it doesn't hurt all that bad, albeit it does sting the eye's a bit. If i had to pick i'd take getting spray or hit with a fastball over a taser.

Pepper spray is for crowd control when you have an unruly group of people, same for the beanbags or rubber bullets, when you can't control people at close proximity. A taser is for close proximity but police don't, and shouldn't have carte blanche to use it whenever they feel like it. There are protocol's, and it is clear that the police did not adhere to them.

What was their other option? Physically man-handle the guy to their car, drag him up/down stairs? Fuck that. He knew it hurt... he knew they would do it again if he didn't get up and walk out... and he still very conciously CHOSE to be insubordinate.

btw, never been hit w/ a fast ball but if taser hurt more than that than you should try the stun gun (the thing that shoots metal coils into your skin). HOOLY SHIT that hurts, and continues to hurt...

    This thread hasn't died.. lol.

Even if this was police brutality.. is police brutality even a bad thing?

Think about it.. If I drive my car down the highway a little too fast.. whats the worst that can happen? 2% of the time I get pulled over and handed a ticket which cost me less money than my dinner did.

What about all the people who die a year in speeding related accidents? What if police were allowed to pull people out of their cars and beat the shit out of them for speeding? I know I would think twice and watch my speed a lot more. Image all the lives that would be saved! How money we would save a year on insurance premiums?

Those arnt fucking tasers, theyre pussy ass stun guns. Those little hand helds and shock collars are worthless, me and my friends shock each other all the time with those, ive been shocked for 12 seconds before I gave up.

Tasers are the black/yellow guns police carry around, if you resist one of those your high on some sort of super drug.

Dont try to pass off stun guns as a taser.

Agree with post above. It was a funny ass video, but i've been stunned with a military style stun gun. One of my best friends in colleges dad was a high ranked army ranger and he got her a stun gun (a good one) for one of her birthdays once. She carries it in her glove compartment. I've been hit with a dog collar too, and that's not nearly the same.

Even the one they used...i don't think the video helps your point that it's not excessive. They were screaming in pain after being shocked for about .5 seconds. These cops used it for more than 5 seconds in some cases.
