^Tonight. Didn't know I couldn't use it on my SMN or WHM so I decided to keep it around for my Lv44 BST. I'm not that far off, only 26 levels away.
I could use it on my WAR too I guess...

If the people have the points, they can spend them however they want. I've seen one person in my LS get ridill for his lvl60 thf/37war, and another got it for his lvl30 war. The war leveled it to 75 in about 2 weeks after he got it. The thf got ebody too when his war was only 37 lol; His lazy ass is still in the 50's though after like 4 months of having those items.
WHERE'S THE JUSTICE?!!?!?!?
Here's the way I explain this for our LS rules. We run a point system. You must be within 1 level to equip before you can bid on something. The point for items like Ridill and all the other good rare things is to improve the shell by getting deserving members items they can use to perform better. The points allows members to decide for themselves what's important (i.e. I have 3/4 jobs which can use gaiters, but I decided not to bid on them yesterday and I bid on the Ridill tonight).
Having a good item in the hands of someone who can use it will improve the shell, having it in the hands of someone who is months away from equipping helps no one.
Taken from an old post, but lolPointsystems usually result in things like this

Adaman Hauberk and Spinel Ring ftl.
Depends how you look at it I suppose, big items are nice motivation to level jobs and imo makes the game really fun. I got AF2 body for my paladin when it was barely 26 but i leveled that shit to 75 within 2 months. It was kinda funny cuz I outlotted a guy who dinged 75 PLD the day before >.>;;;; Then I outlotted him on BLM hat the next week <.<;;
LOL what kind of lotting rules does your Dynamis shell have?Originally Posted by Luke
Considering how many people have multi-75s now, it seems like there should also be discussion of people lotting items for jobs that they have levelled, but don't really care about. Example: Say you have somebody with BRD RDM MNK SAM WAR levelled. IMO it seems unhealthy for the LS to let this person get a manteel, duelist chapeau/dalm, black belt, sponsorship for relic GKT, AND adaberk/ridill no matter how much time/points acquired. Extreme example, but for discussion's sake...
Maybe I'm being too "jobist" and I'm sure some kind of pre-stated priority system exists for many shells. But there ought to be something said about a particular player's passion for a certain job and the respective gear associated with that job.
Wow those are shitty rules. That happened once in our LS, the person lied about their nin lvl and was promptly booted after I found out.Originally Posted by Seditedi

It wasn't exactly an entire LS that went, more like just a small group of friends (usually had 8-12 toons for a xarc run, w/ like 3-5 of those being multi-boxed). A guy on my server who has like every item worth having in FFXI, (maat's cap, ridill, all HQ king bodies, at least 5-6 100 crafts, soon relic horn etc etc), was trying to get RDM AF2 hat for his 2nd character and needed some more people to go with him so I was invited. Ended up taking him like 14 xarc runs to get it but that's besides the point.
When I got invited, I got to pick any 2 AF's I wanted to lot on, and since I couldn't lot RDM, I picked BLM and PLD lol. Simple as that >.>;
Thats lame as fuck, dunno how someone could actually outlot a 75 job on AF2 and feel good about it.. lol. I feel bad about lotting AF2 for a job that can't equip it, but a level 26, come on man.Originally Posted by Luke
Point systems are just shitty. Give the items to the people that deserve them, point systems are just a way to "simplify" or to "take the guesswork out."
The LS knows who deserves what, or if there's an ambiguity, just be like "you 3 lot it." That way it's SE's fault if you lot low.
Edit: It's just a game, if I need to attend every event for 1 1/2 years to get enough points to lot an e.body so I can equip it when my 27war finally hits 75 SUCK MY ANUS. Give the items to the people who can use them most effectively, problem solved.
/nod, points are a bitch to track and I just feel points systems are for leaders that have their heads too far up their ass that they don't even know what members are just trying to score easy items and which ones are actually doing the work for the linkshell and actually deserve the items. /rant off.Originally Posted by Denchi
I don't think it's greed; we all paid the same price to go, which was sometimes as high as 150k and the guy I outlotted has like 10 jobs @ 75 already, he leveled PLD in about 1.5months and has only used it once at an event. If it was someone who only had PLD leveled or something, I would have passed for sure.Originally Posted by Lordwafik
At this point in the game though, I think everyone knows how easy it is to level jobs, getting equipment is usually what takes time.
edit1: lol I didn't want to start any kind of arguement, but you guys would be surprised how much of that stuff like I mentioned goes on. That dynamis group I went with didn't keep track of points, it was really laid back. When I joined them, I asked them if PLD was ok to choose even though it was 26, and they said yeah that is fine; I don't see how lotting it is wrong when they said it was ok lol >.>
edit2: I should add that the people I went with weren't fresh level 75 players or anything heh, they know it doesn't take long to level jobs. Some or even most of them have been playing since JP release.
edited into upper post ><
there is an edit button luke fyi...
Just depends on how linkshells are built. The established linkshells that have been around for years know what they are doing. Some lot rules are differently designed than others. Just how it is. In my linkshell its just a mixture of points/priority and faith in leaders to make the right choice. Although a tip to all linkshells that are being made new, know what items are going to who before an event lol. Also that one dudes dynamis is fucked.
wtf ; ; It's not like Xarc AF2's are hard to get especially with small numbers. When PLD dropped it was just me and the aforementioned guy lotting it, no one else wanted it because they either wanted something else or already had it. There was at least 2-3 there who already had BLM,RDM, & PLD af2's from there already. They practically wanted people to go who didn't already have PLD and BLM since they almost all had it so it worked out.
Honestly, what does this pic have to do with anything? Making fun of people who have rare items with average gear is all nice and well, but it's not like you don't see the same exact screenshots in non-point system ls.Originally Posted by Seditedi
It's gay when someone who doesn't have a melee job takes a ridill or ebody, but realistically that is the fault of your linkshell's rules and they can get to 75 before you see another drop so it's not going to waste if they will actually level the job.
I have a Ridill, and Shadow Mantle for my THF, and won a Dalmatica for my BLM. As soon as I got Dalm I dropped my BLM AFv2 body.
Point systems 4tw.
