People who admit to knowingly buying from RMT and then bitch about RMT should be gagged tied down, have lead attached to their feet and thrown into a very deep pool....
YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM. so don't YOU dare complain about RMT.

Gilselling is like cancer - is you wanna get rid of it gotta cut some healthy flesh out, too.
Didn't Ondori try to get them to come here? If he could not pull it off, a man in a better position than us when it came to talking with them, I don't think anything we do now will change that.
This being the largest ffxi end game forum is a nice look and everything but the fact that we're uncensored pretty much curses us.

the most useful feedback i could think of giving them was to post pictures of RMT groups, possibly screenshots made with windower.
maybe they should make an abjuration a reward for completing rank10 in all nations, giving people a reason to do old content for a good reward and harming RMT trade all at once!
Then RMT would just monopolise (have more time to play) the popped missions NMs. They'd let you kill it if you paid them some money though.![]()
The sad thing is that if they tried that they could easily be banned for griefing.Originally Posted by spooky

As much as I hate RMT, I think it's stupid to bash someone who buys Autumnstones to further their LS. You say they are just supporting them, but if his LS doesn't buy it, someone else will. And even if no one will, RMTs will still camp Ulli.
It's a game, and it's supposed to be fun. Losing claim against RMTs is no fun, but I think not fighting Byakko and Kirin (and not getting their drops) just to say you have 'morals' and that your stubborness actually creates a hinderance or deterrant for the RMT (hint: it doesn't) is even less fun.
if we dont buy the autumnstone then they can pop byakko and kill byakko, i bet they lose a lot, that's why they still sell the stone.
Kinda stupid to say that one is supporting RMT when they buy Autumnstones... so many items in the game have direct or indirect ties to RMT. So those SAMs, MNKs, and NIN sporting O. Kote are supporting RMT? How about those WARs that still use lolJuggernaut? Also so many people have Leaping Boots and Emp Pins that was once sold by a RMT... etc etc. I know it's not that same as a pop item for sky, but same general conclusion-- RMT and players exchange (and have exchanged) gil/items, it's just not directly as buying a stone from them.
Like others have said, an official "talk with SE people" forum would be great, but wouldn't last long. With the heavy criticism that goes on here, I would be surprised if any SE rep stayed around more than one thread. The only way I think you could easily make it possible is to have applications to get access to that forum, which would be a lot of work for admins to sort through, after receiving hundreds of apps.
edit: Let the autumnstone argument die, it's old and pointless.
Could be done that way. That's a lot of work though. The main thing is just to stop ew accounts from that access or the site will be crapflooded within a week.Originally Posted by Khamsin
The difference is, sho, that you are knowingly buying an item from an RMT. Knowingly, consciously putting gil into RMT hands is contributing to the problem. You loose any right to bitch about RMT at that point.Originally Posted by Sho
And regarding the rest of your points, those are pretty much exactly the reasons I either camp my own items or else buy from Bazaars I know not to be RMT, or from friends.
You have a point, can't argue with thatOriginally Posted by Lithiani
Although I've known quite a few that just admit to buying said items from RMT themselves for a cheaper price. In the same token, many are conscious of the effects of RMT on the lesser items, yet they continue to purchase said items to ease themselves of that "stress" of camping or looking for a more legit manner of obtaining them.
As for me, all of the random items I've mentioned, I have a job that could have benefited from them, but I blatantly just skipped over them or borrowed from friends, meh. Fucking RMT, lol.
Yes, give S-E an invite to set up shop here.
Restrict the forum to at least 90 day+ accounts, and preferrably with a minimum post count. Entry by application only.
Anyone goes stupid once they're in, banstick em.
After all, it's the end-gamers that get a special bit of love from RMT's, right?
So when you buy Okote, you basically know for 90% certain it's from a gilseller. And when you buy the stone from a RMT bazaar you know it for 100%. Is that 10% really that important? I get the impression it makes you sleep better at night. I don't see much diff, since it becomes 100% in the case of an AH sale thanks to the sales history, either way "supported" RMT.The difference is, sho, that you are knowingly buying an item from an RMT. Knowingly, consciously putting gil into RMT hands is contributing to the problem. You loose any right to bitch about RMT at that point.
I say "supported" because when it comes down to it there's only one thing supporting gilsellers and that's the buyers imo. You as normal player have no influence on that whatsoever. If there's a demand for gil, there will be people supplying the gil. The demand to buy gil will never be zero either (since it's the easy way from A to B), unless the price gets so high for gil nobody wants to pay it and SE has to be alot more annoying towards gilsellers to accomplish that.
If you, non gilbuying person, buys a stone or not with your own farmed gil the RMT won't give a fuck. If they can't sell the stone, they will either farm Byakko+Kirin for the money drops (including the on the spot rare/ex market if that flies for your server) or they stop farming it because the money drops aren't worth the time. Which will never happen, unless SE wants to "dragon talon" Sky, including rare/ex drops. And if SE does that, RMT will annoy you at some other NM SE didn't patch up but does have a great drop.
So unless SE manages to "fix" everything loot-wise ingame, which can't be done? Or SE manages to annoy gilsellers so much that they consider to not invest more in farming gil, going bankrupt or the price that high that nobody will buy the gil. Or hell freezing over and people who would normally buy gil, play the game normally. Which can't be done since some/most people will always try to find the easy way from A to B?
I don't like RMT either, the farmers are everywhere and kill the fun, but I'm not gonna bitch at somebody who wants to buy a stone or even some rare/ex drop. You are probably thinking: "But by buying the stone from them, you're keeping them up there!" They would be annoying me somewhere else if not at Ulli, since they won't stop farming gil when there's a demand for it.
And yes, I have bought crap from RMT's: Okote, Tathlum and some other crap on the AH I forgot. Didn't buy a Stone or some Rare/Ex thing, but I do know some people that did and I honestly don't care since I don't consider it "the problem".
Well, I bought my O.Kote for 325k nearly 2 years ago, so it doesn't really apply to me...Originally Posted by Appie
but, as I say, I only buy from known reputable bazaars and friends. I try to avoid even buying food from the AH because it's so infested with RMT crafter bots.
I do everything possible to avoid transfering money to the RMT. That and competing for NMs against them is all I can do to address the issue until SE bans the fuckers.
my reasoning behind wanting them to come here is they do it on our terms, they are willing to listen, so they can get an earful of sendoh letting them know exactly whats wrong, an advanced xavier speech about perils, an indepth analysis by rkenshin, a picture so they can relate to the subject by lordwafik
they can get a combined community of end game professionals telling them what would make them want to stay, relating their experiences of why parts of their linkshells quit for WoW, tell them what the fuck is wrong and how we know how to fix it
So the debate over hacking or not isn't really that important at that point, because the games over.
QFT
All the "Task Force" press release accomplished was getting everyone excited, expecting the banning of the "out of the closet" RMT's (Ulli, Amenet, Bune, ect.) within the first week or two.
In all fairness to the players that are getting scolded for expecting immediate action, SE has maintained for years that they are doing something about relieveing the RMT monopolization of mobs/items. If all "Task Force" means is more of the same, (3 year old RMT groups still cockblocking the same mobs) they shouldn't have announced anything.
SE should have known a big announcement of a "military" sounding anti-RMT squad having been formed a week prior to the release, would result in players thinking they were going to get results they could see, and see soon.
To the community at large it's starting to look like the same old, "we're investigating the matter" blow off as usual. Even if it's not true this time, the servers who aren't seeing any action, are very justified in believing the anouncement is just the same old cookie cutter response dressed up in fancy clothes.
"This game is over", may very well be a accurate prediction, even if it was tongue-in-cheek.
