No shit.. I've been following these all morning (since I work at night)..

I'm sure there's plenty more. Crazy what people are willing to go through to get their grimey hands on these.

On my local radio station, one guy's brother works at a Best Buy, and he got one that fell off the truck. This guy was willing to give it to the radio DJ's daredevil guy for some sort of weird deal (Same daring guy that stuck his hand in a huge bear trap).

I seen an auction where a guy is expecting payment within 10 minutes of auction close, or he will do second chance offers to the next bidders onward.

"fell off a truck", right lol.

From the looks of those bids on the first link posted, the serious bids ended at $4,000... although there's no way to tell if the 4k bid was even real.

Do the tags that hold the truck shut happen to open on the one the PS3 is on, and it happens to be stacked in the very front? lol

Luckily for anyone who bid on that, they can just file for bankruptcy to get out of paying for it.

"Falling off the truck" is an expression, meaning they ganked it while unloading into the store.

Doesn't e-bay have conditions on bidding? If you bid something you can't pay for you could get sued, I thought?

And if you declared bankrupcy an investigation would ensue to prove it?

If you do it from a public PC there's no way you can be traced down.

Er.. dont you have to sign up? You know, with a CC# and a paypal account with shipping info?

Plus I thought those PS3 bids you had to have like a 90%+ rating to bid.. so.. it just couldnt of been random people?

    Yep:

This auction also complies with eBay's new rules for Playstation 3 Pre Sales, I have met the following requirements in order to pre-sell a PS3:

    *
    1. You must have a Feedback of 50 or more.
    *
    2. Your Feedback score must be 98% or above.
    *
    3. You may only list one system. You may list 1 PlayStation 3 and 1 Nintendo Wii with a photo of your pre-order receipt for each system.
    *
    4. You must accept PayPal as your only payment option.
    *
    5. You must include a photo of your receipt in the listing.
    *
    6. No Buy It Now will be allowed.
    *
    7. No one day listings will be allowed.

Well, that has to do with selling.

But doesnt bidding have similiar standards anyway?
