December Update Info Incoming?

I honestly don't care if it's end-game content or not, as long as I'm having fun. Pessimestic people have been more a problem to me than anything else. They rather sit there and complain than do anything and it sucks, because instead of playing the game I'm stuck with a bunch of bitchy people who do nothing but TP-Party merit outside LS events. I'm really curious how people played off-line videogames where they knew they were going to stop playing within the month and lose all the items they earned.

The ammount of people that bitch and say there's nothing to do ingame is ridiculous. some of these havent finished rank missions/CoP/ZMs refuse to try the ISNMs, the Assault boat thing. Or even worse is those who say they want to do all these things but nobody will help them (because they expect people to go do their PM 5-3 at a drop of hat, do all their research, help them with w/e farming necessary).... those people need to quit so we can all enjoy this game without them..

Limbus was the last linkshell thing added, and hey, it was pretty good, but IT'S OVER A YEAR OLD. I have full homam, full nashira and I've gone to it well over 100 times. Is it too much to ask for something that requires more than 1 group to do to be added more than once every year and a half? This is a multi-player game after all.

personally i think they will tell us about the december update tomorrow, they always seem to do it on mondays.
but all they will say is "expect a plethora of new additions to assault, chocobo raising and much more, stay tuned for additional update details in the future"

They will probably release Chocobo Racing this patch and then the colosseum in the next. Personally I hope its Dragon Quest style. >.>

Indeed. It's one thing to argue with people who think the game is dying, but have enjoyed. Flux would be the almighty exception. This man lives in a dark room with only candle light and a white-and-black television set that only plays Spike TV and Room Raiders. Just quit already. Quit and find another hobby if you are that addicted.

Although, Overwhelm would be insane... As a +25% bonus to WS damage in the front of a mob, it would be almost as much damage as SA.

I think this is the whole point. They want to allow SAMs to pick different subjobs.

I strongly believe that the cap for level 2 job merits will be: 5/10. Some of them will be amazing when fully capped, making it bad idea to get all of them instead of maxing 2.

And I'm not just talking about Assaults and ect. There is so many things people would laugh at as "being low level lol" or "pointless, no real rewards involved", but have never tried. I like to say many people who just love to grind, and are usually elitist about it, and just won't shut up about how the game is dying are simply playing the game wrong. One could say, well that's a playing style. I think it's stops being a playing style when you are addicted and can't force yourself to quit. If you are having fun, then maybe it's a playing style.

But, I'll just stop here, because I'll end up repeating myself a thousand times. Simply: Quit if you don't want to play. Come back when you do... or don't at all.

It would be so easy to do a minor upgrade that would be worth it for limbus. Make the basements drop a chip and when you combine that chip with the omega/ultima chip sets, you fight an HQ ultima/omega. Have it drop items that you can take to the Elvann in Port along with your homam/narisha sets to get the +1 version. That'll keep people busy.

But they said they would upgrade Fellowship after the end of the ToAU storyline, bleh. I just think it's stupid. They could have made the fellow play a big role(which looked to be true, pre-expansion), or just a cameo would be nice, like you are about to die and your fellow saves you. Would surprise and please the hell out of me.

I'm pretty sure this is not the case, but I never got the chance to do these, it would be nice if materials drop-rate were insanely high on these. I mean, Temenos BLM item is really pissing me off.

If SE adds my system... basement limbus would give you 100% chance to fight the NQ battlefield fights

The point people were trying to make is that SE fails at that miserably, and yelling garrison or besieged 100 times a day in response doesn't change that much. The answer isn't for everyone who finds XI stale to quit, unless you feel like being outnumbered by RMT 10:1 as opposed to 2:1.

As a perfectionist, I keep myself in a nigh unending loop of inferiority, so until I obtain a Spharai or some high point, I will not feel as though I have accomplished anything, and thus will not have gotten my money's worth.
However, if by some chance I do reach this goal, I am still drawn in by FFXI's staggeringly vast potential and the things I have yet to see.

Yes, players can be short-sighted in what they see as entertaining content.
Yes, updates tend to lack a big bang that draws people in and one can't be expected to enjoy old content limitlessly.

There is logic in saying that if something no longer entertains you, you should just quit.
However it should not be suggested that the onus is on the us, the subscribers.

I am patient with this game because I see, in the detailed zones, the intricate game mechanics, the deep, twisting story line, that the developers have the ability to make it compete with WoW, they just lack the correct direction.

speaking of contents, Assaults have always been nice and fun but they currently lack.. sense.
They started with 3 rank, 15 missions and rewards; then they added 2 more ranks and basically you could farm your fav items chosing which assaults would suit your jobs better. Even the "plot" seemed to go somewhere since the last assault rank required you to track Dark Rider.

But the latest update was really dissapointed. They added 10 more missions but many are rather pointless and ppl still farm the lower ones; the rank up quests turned into something quite annoying and with no relevance to the main storyline...

I think they need to give ppl a "goal" related to assaults. I'm quite sure they will add more ranks and missions but I hope this time there might be some *sense*, like rank10 assault dropping sweet ??? items, or maybe special rank 10 assaults that are like KS99 fights in alliance.
or just access to the Dark Rider BC...
