Omg that Casper the Bhoot one is hilarious.
The butter knife GKT is pretty awesome too, imo ^^
Would someone be so kind to explain about how custom dats work and if there's any specific application I would need to get. I'm making the switch from PS2 to PC this week. Thanks for any info.
Ever piece of armor has its own file. Just replace the file with another.
Thank you.
Found this one while skimming threw the site, pretty funny i think. Sadly though i dont know which folder its in, does anyone happen to know?

Depends on which automaton frame/head combo you wanna replace.Originally Posted by Legolass

and ROM\166 -> .dats 111, 112, 113, and 114
I'd list what the combo of each was...but with that many...yeah <__<;;
no thats fine, thank you :D, i was gonna use modle veiwer but i didn't have the automaton's there and with no "read me" file attached to it kinda hardOriginally Posted by Eraphiel
I found those w/ the new AltanaView Modelviewer, which I personally find to be way way better than Foyle's. You can view all the maps (choco tracks, remnant areas, etc. included), spell effects, ws/sc animations, and play music, which I think is just damn cool.
But yeah...if you wanna do .dat swapping, many don't come with a handy readme file to let you know the right path, where model viewer is handy. Problem with the automatons is that each one of those dats is a different head/frame combo...so unless you replaced them all, you'd only get the GM puppet with one specific combination.
awsome, thanks much!!!
Actually those Automatons listed only work for NPC models, not PC. You'll just get a blank spot and the puppet's name halfway underground. Someone has probably made working automaton .dats by now... I could probably figure it out but haven't tried yet. Just warning ya the ones on ffxidats do not work for players' puppet models.Originally Posted by Legolass
best fucking dat edit ever. I would give you a high five irl for this. I have been looking for a good face/hair for my toon when i change it to a mithra/hume female but i can never find one i like :3
There's been a lot updated recently on FFXI dats for hume female faces, and if it's just colors you want changed and you can't find, that's significantly easy to change if you ask. I have been recoloring all the hume F faces and mithra faces and changing the hair around a bit for my own computer. I haven't gotten to making completely new hairstyles but I can edit the pre-existing ones shorter/longer and what not.Originally Posted by Boyiee
Another poopy thing about AltanaView is that there is no timeline that you can pause and scoot forward frame by frame to get the desired position. You just kind of gotta hit the Stop button and pray.Originally Posted by Eraphiel

Worth it though, for the adorable Chebukki emotes on my Taru's model!
Any pics Nikkei?

She looks like she just found out there weren't any more cookies and alcohol.
And that the stove, is in fact, not hot.
