So whats the actual cost of the consoles anyway?
Like when you buy it and include all the accessories you need like controllers and memory cards.
ebay or retail?

Phantom, it will rock you all. Also, Virtual Boy.
I haven't touched my xbox360 in weeks ever since I got FFXII, so ps2 > all.Originally Posted by GRT
As an owner of all next gen consoles (PS3, Wii, and 360) I can definately say this. While the 360 is my current favorite console, the PS3 definately has way more potential to turn into a powerhouse of a unit. Within six months I imagine me retiring my 360 only to take it out when Halo 3 comes out. As for the Wii, sure it's fun, sure it's innovative, but the graphics are severely lacking. Playing around with a Wiimote isnt enough of an incentive for me to give up my amazing HD graphics that the 360 and PS3 offer. Although, as it stands, the Wii does have some fantastic titles out on it right now though, so currently I rank the consoles:
XBOX 360 > Wii > PS3
Although in six months time it will easily be:
PS3 > XBOX 360 > Wii
And all the haters who say "PS3 suxorz end of story lawl!11!eleven!1!!", you simply do not have the cognitive capacity to realize what it can do. If you've seen the MotorStorm demo or even played it, you'd realize that it's going to be the most amazing system ever. Not to mention, if you compare XBOX 360 launch titles with those that are out now, a year later, how amazing is that upgrade? Now if you extrapolate the same percentage increase in coding, graphics, gameplay, etc. on the Playstation 3, you have something quite legendary...
best post in any next gen console thread yet.Originally Posted by Btight

I just have a shitty 19" TV with one speaker (that's right, doesn't even have stereo sound) that I play video games on, so, all the HD stuff on xbox 360 and PS3 would still look pretty bad to me. All about the gameplay because of that.
Never really been a xbox fan due to the lack of RPGs, but so far, PS3 doesn't seem to have any RPGs coming out for a while.
Wii will keep me entertained, not really a nintendo fan boy, but I do like zelda and some mario games and I can not wait for super smash brothers brawl. >.<
Until more RPGs come out though, I'll stick to PS2 and Wii.

As for the PS3 and 360, remember that gameplay > graphics/sound/any-other-fluff. In my opinion, the Wii has it in spades while the 360 and PS3 are lacking. Then again, I still play multiplayer games on GameCube, so what do I know? (Mario Kart: Double Dash ftw.)
Um, there is tons of good Xbox360 games aside from Gears of War ;x. It's been out for a while.
Wii is the only console this gen that is making profit. Xbox360 has a very small loss. PS3 is like 250ish loss for the stronger build and 300ish loss for the weaker build(why even make it then?).
Considering the PS3 is relying on games for profit and that in the JP PS3 launch, less than 1 game for every PS3 was sold. Ouch ;o.
Because then you can give the specs of the 60 gig PS3 system will citing the price of the 20 gig PS3 system and call yourself competitive in entirely misleading marketing.Originally Posted by BRP
I still like Burnout Revenge on the 360, the most fun game I can think of that's also in HD. GoW is also fun, but fps games are better with the control of a mouse, imo.Originally Posted by BRP
Firstly I have to respond about Mario Kart Double Dash, as it has the worst rubberband A.I. of any game, ever! The point of that game is to be dead last when the last lap starts, so you get all the blue shells, lightnight bolts, etc., and then just tear through the rest of the opposition and magically win. It's honestly some of the worst ever.
As far as your response about the 19" TV, I guess that's true. I dunno though, I saved up and went and got a 42" Sony LCD with 3000:1 contrast ratio and support up to 1080p, so high def really matters. Nothing like playing Gears of War or Resistance: Fall of Man in high def... To me, the Wii really looks like the Gamecube with a different controller, albeit a really good one.
the real interesting notion in these topics on this perticular forum that fasinates me is how many people actually favor systems with LESS potential for growth, given how we all hate PS2 as a limitation for how great a game FFXI could have been
What makes a system strong/successful is exclusive games. And OK there is Motostorm. Now granted while watching some features on the PS3 online I heard that Motostorm is good. But I don't like that type of game, and I know a lot of other people who don't either. Bottom line, its not a system seller.Originally Posted by Btight
So what's left out there that are system sellers: GTA? DMC4? MGS4? FFXIII?
3 of those four have been rumored to be coming out on the 360 as well. 1 has been confirmed GTA, 1 has not a very strong chance (DMC4). I am saying DMC4 through the knowledge that MS has been trying to acquire Capcom. And MGS4 has been rumored as making its way to the 360 as well. That leaves FFXIII which is supposedly coming out in 2007, but I'll believe it when I see it.
So lets go a year down the road. And again I have loved Sony up until this point, and hated MS. I still do not like MS since their tactics are just to steal other people's companies. But long story short, where is PS3 a year down the road really. Are they the next Xbox (original) with 1 good exclusive games and a bunch of multisystem games. Who knows obviously.
But you cannot make the point that a year down the road they will for sure be legendary.
FFXIII will be coming out in 2008 at the earliest, but when it does, it will be fully exclusive. MGS4 will be coming out exclusive on PS3 at least for six months before you can grab it on the 360. DMC4 is exclusive as far as I've heard, but it does seem like a title that is likely to be ported to other consoles.Originally Posted by Po
But as for other PS3 exclusive titles that are amazing? How about Warhawk, Killzone 2, Assassin's Creed, Full Auto 2, Gran Turismo HD, Tekken 6 (likely to be on more than just PS3), Heavenly Sword, White Knight Story, etc., etc... I could go on and on. They have an entire slew of titles that are all going to be fantastic games. Maybe do a little research before you bash next time...
They better be working on some great RPGs for PS3 or I am going to be pissed. >_>
