It's been ages, and the last time I did anything in assembly was toying with it on x88, but off the top of my head, the first ways I think of are:
LSH 8
RSH 8
MOV ah, 0
AND 0
Do I get a cookie, or did I get one wrong? I can't even remember, anymore. lol
Yet, even if that's right, I still know nothing of assembly, for all intents and purposes of today's usage or practicality. So I doubt that is a very good test.
