meh, I'm not a huge fan of giving bosses 50 million hp and crap. Theres other ways to make bosses hard than to simply take 4 hours whacking away at it.

the strategy guide says 10 million and it is wrong. He has just about 1 million.

The max you can hit him for is 6999.

    15,000,000 (as the previous poster said) / 6999 = 2143 swings in 8 minutes.

    Or ~10,000,000 (as the guide says) / 6999 = 1428 swings in 8 minutes.

His HP bar goes down WAY quicker than either of those indications of time. By comparison, it should take around 1/5 as long as it takes to kill Yiazmat, and even longer since you aren't capped at 6999 at the start of Yiazmat. He increases defense later in the fight. Pretty sure no one could kill Yiazmat in 40 minutes even with infinite HP and constant attacking.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZAcuFHLhO0 is the vid of Omega that I keep referring to. His HP seems to go down at about twice as slow as a normal esper fight.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ldrnZMnBvdE Here is a vid of him from the JP version. As you can see his HP doesn't even budge when he gets hit.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ePQnhMEzTs Another vid of him from JP version at 50% HP, and again his HP isn't budging.

The guy who made the video said it took him about an hour and a half to kill the JP version of him, and 8 minutes for NA version. There's a humongous difference.

Yeah, and they used a lot of them for the espers, KB, and shadowseer. I guess they just had to throw a "stamina fight" in there for completeness.

I liked the field changes in some esper fights, that seemed to add a good challenge to fights that would probably have been easy without them.

Ya, CHucase343445n was hard as fuck with the sap effect, immobalize, and friends... Not to mention Zodiark going invincible and spamming darkra/Scathe..

Zodiark was by far the most ridiculous thing I have fought in a very very long time.

During that fight, I honestly could not do any damage for like 15 mins due to his stupid barrier spam. ~_~

Honestly, I hate all those barriers, physical + magic barrier is the cheapest shit ever.

Those I can deal with, just spread your people out, but when you can't even hurt what you are fighting (The Seer only seemed to be invincible with his summons out, for me anyways), that is annoying...

Fearga was a goddamn bitch. That and Invert while the summon is in mid-swing for the instakill before cure can land sucked too.

but no Zodiark doesn't spam fearga or curse during shields. He spams darkja which fucking kills you. That or Ardor and scathe, which kill you or he'll put on brave and hit you for 3k+ just to be a dick before he casts darkja again

One of his Darkjas actually full wiped my main team, I'm just happy you can throw out your other people to sacrifice themselves to raise the other people.

one of? damn near every darkja full wiped my team. only vaan w/ demon shield ever survived.

it was predictable though. it drop its shield, buff itself, raise it's shield, then do darkja.

just bench all but one person until the instant it drops shield, then immedietly bring them in and start casting scathe.

Or better yet, throw a black mask on everyone. Swapping out characters is hard if everyone's being targetted.

black mask/demon shield doesn't stop the instant death from darkja, only absorbs the damage. it has a high chance for instant death that you can't do anything about

yes, but that require knowing beforehand that you need it cause most people have sold those off by now. demon shield just happens to be the best non-bradyguide shield.

and if you're using a guide this game is probably mad boring.

True, but like every FF game, they make 90% of the content hidden in ways that ONLY with the guide you would have ever found...

actually as much as i bitch about that, i managed to do everything except omega w/o a guide (didn't even know the thing existed for a while).

my gear sucked... and it took me hours to figure out shit i should have figured out in 2 minutes... but overall this one was pretty good at giving the the right clues to get everything completed.

I actually don't have a guide, I got all my information from gamefaqs and here. Most of the optional content, like zeromus, chaos and all the marks, I would have at least known about without gamefaqs. But I just wouldn't have thought to explore every square inch of garamscythe to find the switches for chuchulain, or to go back to crystal grande just in case there was another whole maze sitting on top of it. And I probably wouldn't have found the guy for the fishing minigame, or thought to clear two zones 3 times just in case KB showed up afterwards.

Anyone know if a Ribbon stops the instant death effect from Darkja?
