Somehow I doubt that considering I do around 1430 dmg with Novio and Melon Pie +1. I also have a lot of INT gear. I am missing about 10 INT less than a taru BLM.

A BLM casts a nuke twice, maybe three times per minute.
A (good) RDM is easily casting anywhere between 10-25 different spells in the same timeframe.

Conserve MP is worthless to you because of the frequency at which you cast, not because it is worthless completely.

Magnetic is easily the best earring choice I made. I can name a number of times where I actually notice casting 20mp Hastes or Refreshes. Wishing I didn't get Abyssal currently (used to think that loldark skill helped with chainspell stunning), and instead picked Suppa for my eventual longterm goal of upgrading Excalibur (for lolrdm!).

Thats actually pretty good insight Jehryn, but yes, it is worthless for BLM.

That's a retarded argument. Frequency you cast doesnt change the amount of mp saved. If a blm uses 1000mp in 3 spell, or you use 1000mp in 25spells, you will see the same amount of mp saved. Only difference is that your is more constant, while blm will save large amount less often

Just because someone post on the same side doesn't mean you have to agree you know.

Btw Taru int > novio earring, not by much but still enough. Using novio/moldavite on mithra for nuking, and 10int usually put taru a little above me.

If you are so sure, lets see some tests.......
edit: Conserve MP is too random, like I said a test I found a while back, and gonna try to find it again actually showed the none conserve MP gear saving MORE MP in 100 casts than the Conserve MP+5 or maybe even +10 100 casts of Warp.

You don't need a freaking test to understand it's a percent mp saved, not a static number after every spell casted...

    2.5% of 20spell x40mp = 5% of 4spellx 200 mp

You can argue about the number 2.5% if you want, but you can't argue that rdm save more mp than blm, well, unless you take in consideration convert that give a rdm a more mp, but there is no mention of that in the post you agreed with.

Anyway, even if you consider convert, blm usually rest more than rdm (who have to manage their mp, while blm have more time to rest)

    Here you go.

Base proc rate for conserve mp seem around 25%, and he test a 2% increase. That's way under error margin and doesnt mean much. He even concluded something wrong, that conserve mp boost the mp saved and not the chance it procs

    Conserve MP:
Base trigger rate is 25% for 75blm
    +1 CMP = +1% trigger rate

    Actual amount saved is ceil(spell_MP_cost * rnd(1,8) / 16), even distribution between 1-8/16.

+5 conserve MP averages out to about 1.5% mp saved over the long-term. May seem small, but that's on 100% of your casts, compared to static which is a 1.05x damage multiplier if and only if you are magic bursting. For me, that's a ton less infrequent, lol, I can't remember the last monster I actually burst on...probably xp at 70 or so, but even then I was mostly freenuking and stunning.

Fact of the matter is, if you're magic bursting then chances are the actual damage of your burst is irrelevant as long as you don't get a resist, because you're in a protracted battle where there is no huge reason to rush. Plus-or-minus 100 damage will rarely change the outcome of this kind of battle. In fact, +100 damage can be hazardous to your reliability.

This is all without the Sorcerer's Ring, which you were using perhaps? If so, 10 MAB > 7 MAB :X With the ring ( I just sold it to deck out PUPlol), it could be even better. The Freeze II was with the af2 pants but no obi while the Burst II was lightenday + earth weather (obi + af2 pants). The INT listed there is the standard for me when I nuke.

Doesn't matter how much it procs, it can proc for all random percentages. If you could boost the % MP saved when it procs then maybe conserve MP would be useful for BLM. Conserve MP +5 doesn't do anything to drastically increase BLMs standard Conserve MP trait.

+100dmg will just let you be the lucky blm who become fafnir's next meal. Epeen contest in hnm situation rarely end well.

Most blm dont seem to consider you will be be a gimped healer or sleepga whore most of the time, and those magic burst won't help you. There is only a handful of NM that are killed with magic burst, and 5% more dmg won't change anything.

Magnetic is much better for dynamis, bc, xping, soloing, random event, limbus.

I used no day/weather bonuses for Thunder IV then you send back screenshots of spells that weren't even in question. Sorcerer's ring was used, but still your damage is rather low for a Novio, friend that has it hits about 1600 Thunder IV w/ Ugga w/o obi or AF2..... 84 Base INT (INT full meritted). Think I hit near 1700 with Thunder IV on Thundersday.

And a static earring doesn't turn any battle from impossible into an instant win. I chose magnetic cause I solo on BLM (roaches) and static is completely useless to me. Don't care about +5% burst dmg, not like it matters on any monster unless you need a screenshot of you doing more dmg than anyone else.

And I use it on WHM and BLU too. I can live without a triumph earring.

Why pick an earring that only works for ONE thing that you HARDLY do as a 75 blm nowadays, vs: Magnetic which is always on, and has a chance to help you with any spell you cast, not limiting you to be doing 1 specific thing (i.e: MBing). +20 MP, may be enough for 1 more nuke in a situation where you may have got a few resist or an add. BLM soloes 99% more than it will ever MB. My choice was easy.

+100 dmg wont rip hate. If you're smart you won't die fighting an HNM. If someone died used Burst II on Fafnir on the first SC it would be because they are a moron and went for the Epeen MB before tanks had established some strong hate, not because they used Static earring for an extra 100 dmg.

2 INT > 20 MP because once that 20 MP is used it's just a waste of an earring spot. Conserve MP + gear is overrated and you will not see any game changing increase to Conserve MP due to having Conserve MP+5.

+2 INT is totally game changing.

But I can see how static earring would be game changing.

BLM: lets do a skillchain on ouryu so I can MB it with my static earring.

LS leader: Ok, any other BLM free to come to Ouryu?

That totally changed the game for that BLM.

2 INT will never make up the difference in damage of me being able to cast 1 more t3 or 4 nuke because I had 20 more MP to do so.

I was talking more about AVERAGE damage than inflated damage, meaning at full hp/mp. On average, I hit 1430 without a sorcerer's ring, 1525 on Lightining Day (I will have to get pics next manaburn bc those above are all I have at the moment). Under 50% MP, Thunder IV is around 1490 normal and almost 1600 (I got 1616 once - gotta find the pic!) on L-day. The only other possible gear I can add for more damage are +1 cape and a torque for 3-5 points of INT (which is what...20 more damage?). And the sorcerer's ring of course. I am a hume, so even fully merrited I can only get 77 INT. For argument's sake, lets say he has 15-20 more INT total than me. That is still only 100 or so damage. So, with that extra 20 INT, I can get over 1700 without even using the ring. Imagine if I get it again :D Something to do in the future I suppose.

Stop that with the "random" crap. Statistic are statistic, and in the end, it's the only thing that matter.

His damage arent low for someone who is using a novio earring. They are exactly what they should be with the gear he say he uses (I'm using the same thing as him). Your were higher only because you ommited to mention you used a sorcerer's ring. Remove that and you get exactly what we would expect from a Taru with capped merit and your gear.

MB for BLM and its not a bad earring for RDM MND build.
As for Abyssal earring, 2 INT helps on your INT based enfeebs too, Grav Bind Sleep. 2 INT by itself doesn't do much, but stacked up w/ all the other INT gear used by BLM, it helps out alot - so that your gravs aren't wearing right after you cast them and your slept mobs aren't waking early.
