Damage confusion with BLM gear, help me out

God...why is it that hard for people to understand one thing, ELE SKILL DOESN'T BOOST YOUR DMG. If you nuke in same gear(w/o any latents), same weather, same day on the same mob, you can't resist to 95% or 78% or wtf ever, it is either a 100% unresisted nuke or it is a resisted nuke wich is around 40% the damage where you'll do 700 dmg instead of 1500, because your elemental skill sucks. THIS IS ONLY FOR MOBS THAT DON'T CHECK IMPOSSIBLE TO GAUGE!
Don't post useless pictures to prove anything when you have no clue how it works.
This is what happens when i nuke something, example: 1763dmg, 1763dmg, 1763dmg, 654dmg(fuck resisted), 1763dmg, 1855 dmg(w00t ugga. pendant)

Yes but ele skill DOES affect RESIST!!!!!!!!! WHICH IN TURN EFFECTS POSSIBLE DAMAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!

Edit: By reducing 1/2 damage, 1/8 damage, 3/4 damage etc etc

So do you nuke in Elemental gear because you don't want to resist any spell not to do less damage or do you nuke in INT gear because LAWL 18int > 20MAB ??

I nuke in at least some Elemental gear (AF2 hat), because resists, even partial ones, are annoying. I personally prefer consistent dmg over higher dmg spikes.

Needs more controlled testing. Was your ugly pendant active? Are you 100% sure your sorcerer's ring was up? I think I have most of the gear the guy that was outdamaging you has, with the exception of the gloves and maybe the torque. Going to go check it out quick.

If you're a Tarutaru, you want to see big numbers and it's all about that and e-peen.
If you're not a Taru, it doesn't really mather, because you know you suck against their damage. 8)

As for Demon Helm +1, 30mp = Blizzard I = more damage than +1 INT will give over a full MP pool.

Um... you do realize that you can gear swap right? When I start a manaburn pt and my MP is full I wear as much MP gear as possible buff myself (which costs mp ) and then change my loquacious earring for my abyssal and my zenith crown for my demon helm+1 as well as other crap.

Your comment carries no relevance, your going to nuke in less Int gear for the majority of your MP pool so that you can nuke 1 more blizz 1 spell which I can do the same for and still wear my Demon+1 helm!

Magnetic earring will proc on 5% of those spell, dunno why you say it wouldnt proc. 2 int simply allow me to overkill the monsters that would be dead anyway.

Conserve MP is shit, even if the +5 makes it proc 5% more, it does NOT have ANY effects on the % of MP conserved, that is a random amount. I don't see why you're arguing over Magnetic being used anyway. Since you have Novio, if you use Magnetic instead of Moldavite in any situation you fail miserably as BLM.

If BLM is your only job to 75 now and forever, congrats, you made the best choice for yourself. If you have any other job to 75 or plans to level any other job to 75, than I personally feel you could have made a better decision, but it was your choice so w/e.

with that said, stop beating this dead horse plesae, its been done over and over and no one really cares what you think about conserve mp + anything. Some like it some don't, I personally do, and I will say that on my RDM/BLM i love it and can tell its working since I almost never really have to convert as often as i had to pre-magnetic (and i can blow through mp). On my BLM Moldy and Novio works good for me.

If anyone is concerned with trying to use the equation to figure out what's going on with ebony puddings, as far as I can tell, they take ~25% bonus magic damage which in the equation as given on ffxicyclopedia would mean setting "Target Magic Damage Reduction" value to 1.25 at the end.

Edit: Puddings also seem to have around 90int

Started 1 year after NA release, 75BLM, 66RDM going to 75, I unlike some others actually finish my jobs merits and equips before hopping to another job. 1 Fully meritted 75 > 2 Gimp 75s.
