    Casino Royale

just watched this today and omg coolest film this year so far =3

i wanna get the DVD now lol

men beware, there is a part in the film which will cause you to clutch your balls. all the men in the cinema just went "ahhhhhhhh" in sympathy pains

what i like about this film is that it's not a traditional bond film, or rather it goes against some traditions from previous films (in a good way)

    edit: cool theme song too

such a funny film and had some great action scenes. as its been said earlier the nut whipping scene caused me to laugh because of Craigs reaction to it(those who have seen the film know what jokes im talking about). But the thing that I felt made the film was the ending scene in Venice with the classic "bond, james bond" line. One of my favourite bond films, just wish it was a bit shorter.

The fact that the entire film is believable in terms of the actions scenes and plot helps it out alot, especially with Die Another Day the plot got really really outlandish.

some scenes were unbelievable.... like the opening scene with that bomber dude. I saw the video of him doing those stunts, but honestly can any normal person be able to do that?

Yep, besides, it was never stated that he was "normal," while a bomb maker being that athletic might be unlikely, it's more within the realm of reality then a satelite blowing up people from space.

And its a little too cooincidental that he has a heart-thingy in his car waiting for him in case of being needed.

While I have no proof, I think that spies would have access to a defibullator (gawd sp) for emergencies. There is something called an AWED, which stands for Automatic Wearable External Defibullator... and I guess it's used for mountain climbing and whatnot.

But yeah, the movie was awesome. It was definately my favorite Bond film, and I don't care about the purists.... Daniel Craig > Sean Connery imo.

M sent him the car. To give him his orders and a weapon. I would think for someone in the spy business, they'd need a survival kit of some sort. Just incase. lol

Guess you're right. Since M and the MI6 team probably knew about his heart problems, they included that defibrillator. If only Q was in it. :\

I don't think it's meant to be a prequel so much as a rebirth of the series, kinda like Batman Begins. Of course they had to have all the nods to prior Bond movies, like having him decide how he likes his drink, setting up his womanizing ways, and giving the line "Bond, James Bond."

Edit: But yeah, they could have included Q, my only guess as to why they didn't is because that might make the movie just a little too campy; it seems like they want to set a slightly grittier tone to the series than it has been in the past.

The movie was great, and the bomb maker guy at the start of the film was just amazing.

I'm sure they had a lot of safety when he was jumping from crane to house etc but it still looked fabulous.

Q doesn't appear in the Casino Royale novel. The character "Q", or Major Boothroyd, appears in Dr. No, five books after Casino Royale.

If they're going to use Q in further films with Craig as Bond, he'll likely be played by John Cleese again. They kept Judi Dench as M, despite this being a "prequel".

in my opinion it wouldn't be bond without Judi Dench as "M"
