Why do they keep adding useless shit to the fellowship system, but don't add levels, new functionality, or at least let us use them in aht urghan and capped zones...

And finish ZM17, maybe even AN. That'll keep them out for a while.Originally Posted by ddazska
SE seriously needs to allow us to call our NPCs in ToAU areas. Zoning without losing your Fellow is nice and all but it sure feels like a booby prize. "You can't use them where you really want to, but they'll stick around in zones you're not terribly interested in any more."
Other than that there's good potential here. Especially the vague "game mechanics" reference and previous claims (from someone that wasn't Sage Wut) that changes to Abjurations were in the works.
Cautious optomism ftw.
Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!Several new quests, including a story that centers on Aht Urhgan's Serpent Generals, are planned for the upcoming version update.
I'm excited ;p.
Word, that is a legitimate point. I hate not being able to use my NPC in ToAU. Also, where is the next Limit Break quest for them so we can take them to 70 or even 75? 65 seems like such a crappy stopping point.Originally Posted by Kerberoz

Fixed.. way off buddy, you're at least 6 months late. I'm not sure where Septimus gets the justification to compliment this update, but yet bitch about stuff like CoP dynamis where there are at least -some- useful items to be obtained, regardless of their difficulty/rarity relative to RoZ content.Originally Posted by Septimus
Yeah, this is a good ergonomic change for legitimate players, but it's the same change for RMT, who kill a JoL once every 3 days. Even the Jeuno HNM RMTs get their CoP rings. Aside from 10 more storage spaces, this update ultimately promises nothing.. a vague hint at more Hydras, and perhaps CoP Dynamis #2, something I'd welcome with open arms.
I'm not complaining or even really supporting those who are always pessimistic, but I think it's ironic you've complained about stuff, after it was completed, that probably held more promise then.. than anything from this patch will upon its release.
Not to mention that the ones that it does exclude, will be included in about 1-2 days. lol @thinking temporary roadblocks do anything.Originally Posted by Roranora
My advice is not to speculate on this update. No need getting yourself excited for something that youre prolly gonna realize sucks 3 days later.
While it has somewhat of a promise, it's SE. Do NOT forget that. They set their content standards on an expansion that happened 3 years ago, and thats bullshit.

And people who shit on an update before it's released should really just quit the game, it's obvious you're never going to enjoy playing it ever again.

it really is, anyone who knows someone involved with EQ endgame will vouch for the fact that CoP dev team people seemed to have made at least 2/3rds of the expansions for that game. Many new features, as well as improvements to existing game mechanics, are planned for the upcoming version update. In today's Topics, we'd like to bring you a taste of what's in store.
New Areas
Bah, I don't care. Unless Salvage is some sort of dynamis that helps other jobs besides the ToAU 3 and not some new Assault crap, that's not impressive.
Mog Lockers
Nothing wrong with 10 more spots to store rare/ex crap.
Experience Points in Besieged
Nice, I may stay for a besieged or two.
Tu'Lia
Good one here. Even with chocobos, it's an aggrivating run.
Fellows
Means if something or another aggros, I can run away and my NPC won't disappear. Woohoo! >.>
The quest stuff is kinda meh to me, looks like another SE update to not get our hopes up about.
I'm not saying there's anything wrong at all with these update details and I think having easier access to sky is never, ever going to be a bad thing.
What I have been pondering, however, is that many of these "updates" seem to involve older content (NPCs, Tu'Lia access). We've spent 6 pages mainly discussing the fact we can get to Tu'lia with ease, but there's been little discussion on Salvage or new areas. It just somewhat feels like SE threw out something small which they knew would be popular with the players (ease of movement has been something we've wanted for a while, right?) to disguise the fact there is little TOA content being added. I see no mention of TOA Mission progress, Chocobo racing or Colliseum.
Of course, it's probably likely they are just withholding information at this time and will add details on the above at a later date. Even if they don't, the fact it won't take me 30 minutes + to get to sky will make this update worth while for me.
new, innovative HNMs with USEFUL drops. All I ask.
SE does need to focus on older content, that is their greatest problem. Fixing older content would create a lot of new content itself.
If people can get to sky in less than 5 minutes, maybe it will ease the strain in TOAU zones for merit parties. I personally hate it when it's packed there, and nobody wants to waste 20+ minutes getting to a sky camp, but this update might make sky xp more appealing again.

I don't get the whole RMT uproar. On Fairy, they're at ulli right now. They'll be there in an hour. And the hour after that. And the hour after that. They don't leave ulli ever. Why are people bitching about RMT having easier access to get back to sky when they never leave there in the first place, they're the last people who benefit from this.
(unless your server is different or something)
Salvage might be cool, but then it may suck.
10 more spaces in mog locker is nice, SE has some dumb reason for giving us these expansions all at once, but I'll take what I can get.
The possibility of being able to Tele-Mea, run a quarter way around the crag, zone, use a machine, and be in sky (hopefully on the green telepads)? Fucking Win. This also should have been done ages ago, but seeing as how traveling faster >>>> everything else in the entire game, this change makes me as happy overall as if I logged in to find a B Haidate in my inventory that wasn't there before.
I don't even care about anything else mentioned here.
