People called tulips (certain kinds of course) purple before some idiots decided that purple doesn't exist.

He was being a sarcastic smart ass making a point. Mio said purple wasn't a digital color because technically, only "x" amount of colors are represented by the RGB scale. Mio's whole argument is this "technically, only 8 colors exist, so every color is a bluish,Yellow, 30%mixed with indigo, mixed with 20% red". Technically, you cannot apply a name to anything outside the RGB scale, so therefore, technically, since purple doesn't exist, it cannot be purple.
