I had to keep hitting myself with a healing staff, it took a few centuries.

I know there are games I've completely beaten but the only ones I can think of are Super Mario World and Secret of Mana.

1) Beating Gitaroo-man on master mode

2) doing everything there is to do in FFVII...all master materia on all characters, all limit breaks, etc. (can kill ruby weapon while making a sandwich)

Lufia I or II had something similiar too from what I remember.. but it wasnt a tower, I think it was a dungeon going down 100 floors or something..

once you beat the game, you could restart at the entrance to the cave and pick which characters from the game to take with you

and i cleared it
last boss is a huge slime, cant remember what you get for killing it though..

For me it's definitely beating Dr. Chaos for NES. That game was so awful and so hard I can't imagine anyone wanting to play it ever again.

I too have beaten Diddy Kong racing completely, and now that I think about it, probably the hardest/most annoying game I ever finished, and I often don't finish games I play.

In Mario RPG, that mini-game in Mushroom Kingdom(the one that the guy with the gameboy is playing)... I forget my score, but I got way over 2 million on it, and kind of out of nowhere since 100,000ish was my cap on that thing.

However, my greatest videogame achievement would be playing Earthbound(mother2). Nothing else compares.

I beat that! It was the Ancient Cave, you could technically bring items, but only super-rare ones that you had found from previous cave trips. 100 floors, start at level 1, no spells, 10 potions plus previous cave treasures. It was really freaking hard, your best bet was to farm for awhile and then go for the win once you were lucky enough to get a healing spell out of a chest. Boss was a slime or a blob or something.

I also: ran into a glitch by accident in FF3 (SNES) and got tons of rare items, like #$% Excaliburs, I was just doing random things like Throwing them because I had so many.

Completely beat FF, no guide, no help, at age 8. First NES game ever, 4th video game ever.

On FF, basically went through 50% of the boss fight vs the Kraken with only WHM still alive, casted the ridiculously overpowered Wall but could only hit for 4-12 damage at a time. Took hours....

Converted 90% of my high school Anatomy class to Pokemon Red/Blue.

Managed to die in Dynamis from a 900+ Frypan.

Killed 6 gilsellers at once with a Hellmine at Serket (this was back in the day).

Was fishing on the FFXI beach in fpm when a shark (just background graphics but still) swam up out of the water and basically swam through me. Scared the crap outta me.

Not mine, but watched a friend die (DIE) from the Ball Wall on KH2 as Roxas. I laughed for 30 min straight.

over 2.5 million points in geometry wars (still can't get the survive 1 mil achievement though)

beating amplitude on hard was a big accomplishment for me, and I scored 8500 or so on the BT song, only song I could get 4 stars on

in FFT I had a guy with every job mastered (including the zodiac summon) not really challenging I guess, just time consuming

FF11, I had a vermy on my first job (lol pld) before I could wear it (without borrowing or RMT). I spent way too much time crafting

I haven't finished SMT:N yet, but that sounds pretty ridiculous. Beating Demi-fiend in Digital Devil Saga was probably the hardest thing I've ever done. Hardest bonus fight ever.

I got down to the last lvl. Started to buff up for the slime fight. Little did I know it ran away after 3 turns. Oh and btw, I didn't have providence to escape so reset button for me. Last floor was bugged too, just like the palace where you get the dual blade. But if you did win, you get a key to unlock the chests behind the counter in the shop.

And you had to beat the game twice to unlock it. Otherwise you could play during main quest too but not picking characters.

Oh yeah! I remember something. Beat Alpha Weltall at the Razeil (sp) computer in Xenogears and got a bloody robe.

I got adamant armor in FF4, I beat ff6 in 16 hours but that wasnt as good as the 11 hours from earlier in the thread ; ;
