As a PLD/NIN, HP 1600ish with Barfira from RDM but Currently 0/5 survive.. Any ideas for the gears ? Or, it's just a guaranteed death ?

i think my LS had a WHM survive this once. not sure how though.
a PLD in my LS has stunned this several times with Flat Blade.
Never had anyone live through the damage though.
You need to stop making topics.
You can survive it on pld. Gorion can live w/ 50ish or so HP afterwards.
Its a magical attack ironically enough. Use your MDB gear.
You need to get off your highchair, you're no better then anyone else.Originally Posted by aurik

It's not fire based... and yes I have. -% magic dmg and it makes it easily survivable.Originally Posted by eva00r

LOL yea Barfira is the number one problem there....... try Light Carol and like Blackice said, MDB+ and Magic dmg taken -% gear.Originally Posted by eva00r
Easily survivable for a Galka or Elvaan PLD, and I have no problems surviving it on NIN either for the few times I've done the fight on NIN. I typically have between 200-300 HP left after eating one in my MDB gear (I eat HP food on this fight to be safe, so around 1775 HP iirc)
That being said, making a topic for this is retarded. If you actually had to make a topic for this you should strongly consider letting someone with a brain tank Ultima instead of yourself.
Doesn't Ruke take like <900 from this on his NIN? I don't remember his gear offhand, but yeah. Look into a Resentment cape, some Merman's rings/earrings (right?), Lamian Kaman maybe.. And light resistance+ where you can get it, if you really want to ride it out.
I think it's easier though to have a RDM/DRK chainspell stun to get enough hate to be the sacrifice. >_>
None of the topics he makes shows any sign of any research done on his part. A simple search on ki would show that citadel buster is light based, for one, and that many people survive it.Originally Posted by z3r0c00l

PLD can easily survive this, but its difficult to without Shell up
right when he readies Citadel Buster switch to +HP gear, throw up as many Cure IVs as you can, and with Shell IV/V you should be able to survive it with 1800-1900 HP. i've survived with about 150hp left on PLD/NIN and i didnt have my full HP gear, i think i took like 1700ish from it.
Light Carol helps a shitload but dont expect it unless you have a ballsy BRD who's willing to risk still being in CB range.

you can stun Citadel Buster?Originally Posted by Tanag
with enough MDB and magic dmg taken -% you shouldn't need to rely on 1900 HP to survive. I've seen screenshots of full resists on it like <300 dmg, unsure of the gear that was used, most likely MDB and Light resist setup.
edit: Never heard of it being stunned............ have read of peeps running out of range right before it goes off and you can avoid it that way, I don't think its long enough to stun... even with a WS stun, its almost instant once it starts readying it in the chat log.
Most of what to be said is already covered, just get yourself as much -magic damage taken and Magic Defense Bonus gear as you can, and maybe some +Light if possible in leftover slots.
If you really go all out and get the right gear combined with at least Shell IV you should be fine with just ~1500 HP outside of flukes. Flukes being the fact that Temenos is always 2x Light Weather, and Citadel Buster being a magic attack means there's a potential +10% or +20% bonus to the damage (or +30% on Lightsday) that could screw you over sometimes.
Pescatora is also great food for this BC to help with the HP.
And, I'm not too certain about this, but Nuclear Waste (might be mixing names up?) will reduce all your elemental resistances. I think refreshing Shell gets rid of it (anyone can confirm?) although I'm not sure, but having that effect on hurts as well.
