Heve you ever survive Citadel Buster ?

This is probably the single most unbelivable thing I've seen in FFXI to date. A Galka PLD, Tanizen, in my limbus group survived Citadel Buster after taking damage greater than his HP.

CB countdown starts and around 10 seconds left everyone runs to the ramps, but Tanizen gets drawn-in. With 1900~HP, resovled to his fate he starts curing himself in the unlikelyhood he doesn't take much damage. CB hits him for 2000+ damage...but somehow he's in the red with just under 100hp left. The last Cure3 he cast on himself landed at JUST the perfect time to cure himself as he got hit.

Everyone freaked out for a couple of minutes before calmed down enough to kill Ultima for the win.

Given the nature of taking damage, that it drops all at once and not just counts down super fast to your death, I wouldnt have thought this possible except that I saw it with my own eyes.

Wouldnt call this a reliable method of trying to survive CB, but toss yourself a cure3, it cant hurt. Who knows, you might just save yourself from certain doom.

I like light resist setups + carol.

People say that its risky having BRD carol and die during CB, but in my opinion if you have are looking at a choice between a dead PLD or NIN and a dead BRD and the ensuing player being weakend of course, I will always choose BRD.

Our BRDs are smart though, they dont cast carol at like 15, run away and go "oh shit its probably gonna wear at like '2'" Finish cast carol at like 5-6, BRD run out, PLD or NIN light resist / MDB setup = np budddddddy.

And yea, where you dont have light resist / MDB use HP+ of course, I like pescatora too. Am hume and even with 8/8 HP merits sometimes my HP is a bit low for my liking, but for this I go around 1650-1700, none of that epic 2200 HP Galka bs.

Thats just my 2 cents, and anyone tanking Ultima obviously knows that you can have +500 light resist and sometimes would just get unlucky and not full resist, so MDB is friend :D

(Just recruit BLU to LS also, trying mag att- Move and MDB+ move if they have? + COR hit 75 just a while ago so Magus roll? gonna try too)

Im curious to know how well the new Rampart will work on resisting CB, if anyone wanted to figure out what the damage/resist cap on the upcoming Rampart changes i think it'd worth a try to experiment with it.

At ~20% hate control gets messed up alot (in my experience) due to Armor Busters and other crazy shit, tanks are probably the ones getting caught in CB 60-70% of the time but DDs and BLMs also get targeted for the blast alot too so they get screwed on not getting Carol.

Holy II after CB also seems commonplace if you're still alive, so shadows are pretty important.

Blu doesnt have an Magic attack- move, or an AoE MDB+ move.. unless youre talking about having the blu tank ???

If youre thinking amplification is AoE like it is with the puddings, it isnt.
