OK I will go through great lengths to put this silly microwave thing behind us, here goes:

NOW, look at the figure.
What do you see?
Well I'll tell you. Radiation is a broad term, and it doesn't mean "bad stuff that gives joo cancer". Ok now look again at the figure. Look at the red part, we all know red means bad, so yeah this is bad radiation. If you come in contact with this, your skin and DNA can ionize and you could die right quick from cancer/radiation poisoning.
The pink is heat and stuff. You know like when you turn that dial in your house and hot air comes out, ain't that amazing. Well it turns out this kind of radiation doesn't kill you. Amazing I know, who would have thought?
Now the white.. Well white means safe, right guys? What's happening here is that the wave doesn't even have enough energy to electronically excite the atom. I know that is hard to understand so let's break it down. Say you have a
dumbbell.. It would be right hard to stretch it out, right? Would take lot's of muscle and stuff. That's what electronically excitation basically is. On the other hand it's very easy to spin the
dumbbell around, right? That's what the radiation in the white does! It spins stuff making it hot!! Imagine if you spun a
dumbbell around right quick, that would get kinda hot wouldn't it?
So what have we learned? Microwaves are non-ionizing waves of energy almost like the stuff that comes out of the walls when we turn the dial in the living room up, except the microwaves have less energy

. Poor microwaves.
(Seriously the microwave/cancer thing is so stupid I can't really believe that you guys buy into it...)
