I'm always amazed at this sort of projection of blame. You always get people saying how much their server sucks and blaming everything wrong with their FFXI existence on every other player on the server rather than themselves, where the blame most likely belongs. They're like spoilt emo teens railing against their high school or their small town when what's really wrong is their own attitude. Every server out there sucks, and yet every server out there also has a lot of good people to enjoy the game with. Some just have more botters and RMTs

I dont want to get into a pissing match here, and the reason most of the older members of IRON have left is due too how many times can you kill same thing over and over without any real reward and still be forced to hunt the 3 kings with half the server. SO yeah in the past we merged with Genesis which was the best thing for both shells, and now we merged with EH to keep both shells going, what is the problem? IF AD or Lunarians have low numbers they just team up, hell you guys team up on Aspid.

As for the Aspid thing, ya we teamed up since lunies didnt have the numbers to kill and we have an alliance with them. So why not help out a friendly LS. The IRON I was in isn't the same IRON that exists now any more than the Lunarians you're in are the same Lunarians from two years or even one year ago. LSes have nothing to do with it. Indeed, Bismarck linkshells are very different from what they used to be just a while back. For the most part, the linkshells have stayed on course, however, and the recent huge change with IRON is of course having a backlash, as any change does.

The linkshell competition, RMT hating, etc. goes on across all servers. From what I can tell, the drama on Bismarck is very small if we ever have any, making me think we actually have a more civilized server compared to others. Perhaps that is wrong, but it's irrelevant; the kind of behavior you described is not server-specific, but attitudes shared by most of the players across all servers.

So, everyone doing it everywhere makes it right, gotcha. I'd argue that the drama everywhere is more symptomatic of putting every drop in Aery then segmenting everyone into gangs, but so often the gang mentality is perpetuated outside of those circumstances to no worthwhile purpose.

And Bismarck is on occasion as bad or worse than ANY server. How quickly you forget AD vs. IRON circa two years ago, or Chronis vs. everyone on earth, or Bluesteal vs. everyone on earth, or Unreal vs. everyone on earth, etc. etc. etc. The difference has always been that Bismarck in general frowns on exploding the drama onto forums more than other servers. This is a good policy, it being impossible to win an argument on the internet, and pointless to attempt one in the first place.

People know about NewCompany vs. GameOver or Dynasty vs. everyone etc. because it's made public. Bismarck's dirty laundry is rarely aired on these channels, but that doesn't mean it's not there, and that doesn't make it not stupid.
