Do you play/ever played on Bismarck? Didnt think so, shut the hell up. Just curious on what make's IRON so damn good anyway? You can take down anything with over 60 people you fucking nimrod's.

I never stated I liked IRON. Just stated the only one Ive ever heard of is them from Bismark, and as far as anyone can tell, they're the most famous/prolific. If you dont care enough to post your kills, or tell everyone about your accomplishments as an LS, then WHY do you hate when someone makes a statement such as the above that incited this whole topic?

Trust me, the bane of this game IMO is zerg LSes, above and beyond anything. Bots, RMTing, w/e. To dumb down this game and its fights into throwing as many people as you can at a mob, imo is what has ruined endgame more than anything. So no, I dont defend IRON, the fact that they even think killing Vrtra with 40 is an accomplishment amazes me, (LS has done it with 21), but regardless they do alot, and people notice. So in my eyes they win, because I've never heard of any of the above.

Also Luminaire is probably one of the best posters I've ever had the pleasure of reading from, in just about every aspect of this game, so he's done alot to make me appreciate what IRON has done as an LS.

I was 72 hour banned for "speed hacking with 3rd party tools" while playing on PS2. I was farming Rams in Kon. Highlands fleeing to them when some asshat I was beating reported me on my 72 RNG/THF (he was 75 too). GM pulls me to jail, asks me if I know why I was brought there, and I said I had no clue.


He told me the above, I laughed in his face and said I play on PS2 and it's impossible to use a 3rd party program on PS2. He leaves, basically verifies I am indeed on PS2 but bans me anyway because he doesn't want to admit he was wrong but apologizes for it anyway as he does it. 3 days later, I rip into 3-4 more GM's over the issue and finally get released from jail. Eventually, the mark was removed from my record and I was apologized to. Happened on a Friday night so I lost my weekend of playing because of the stupidity of one...


Just as a side note, be aware that if your internet connection is shitty on a night that lag + flee = speed hack. If I were going to cheat, don't you think I would be hunting something better than fucking Rams you stupid ass GM's?!

It's good to see Bismarck drama is still alive and well. Denounce it all you want, but that drama defined the game for most of us. What do we really take away from the game in the long run? Do we remeber the gear we acquired or that 120th Fafnir kill? Or do we remember the 'human' element more, the triumphs and failures and emotions that stemmed from the interaction we had with each other every day. I doubt most people remember the day-to-day HNM kills, but you can probably recall that time that LS x stole King Behemoth from LS y and wiped at 10% only to have LS z call for help on it, and the ensuing drama that followed. For some people this reality might be a bitter reminder of time wasted, others might recall it fondly, but either way it represents a significant part of our FFXI experience.

Remember how I told you of another one, where someone positioned it to shoot breath up the tunnel, and it passed through 4 linkshells? Yeah...this is the Fafnir I was talking about.

GM's tend to either be really smart, or really out of it - there doesn't seem to be a middle ground.

The day after ToAU came out, I got a GM call on me for taking the cheap teleport from whitegate to an area near Jeuno- I ended up in Rolanberry on top of that structure, and went AFK - only to come back to a GM asking me how I got up there and claiming someone saw me use a POS program to get up there.

1. I play fullscreen
2. the free teleport takes you there automatically

It took about 20 minutes of me explaining how I got there, the GM taking 5 min AFK then coming back to get me off the hook.

Luna fought it for an hour and it went into god mode... eventually they wiped and it started dancing... and then the flail pretty much got the 100+ people in the zone (and in the tunnel..) for 5k~ each.

ive had 2 72 hr bans and an account banned only 1 out of 3 times did i acculy cheat got cuaght speed hacking using sytem clock shit second time i got that account banned prmenitly for using speed hack other wish known as flee to claim an NM this was while i was on PS2 btw since it was perma ban couldent get back on after to argue it GM that banned me refused to even anser my questions just seid i was being perma banned for speed hacking and disconneted me without ansering any questions that was a few years ago now

last time i got 72 hr ban was back in jan for out claiming RMT at serket 2 days in a row RMT called GM on me second day GM jailed me wouldent anser any questions and agen disconnected me without ansering anything after the ban i talked to GM he let me out told me it was a mistake apolagized and let me go out of jail just like that
