SE uses a business firm not part of their corporation to do their customer service work for them, and that firm's only goal is to keep their customers happy (customers like SE and those that hire them). It is funny because SE does their own customer service work in Japan, but not in the U.S.
If you look at it, SE would do this for only a few possible reasons such as:
SE has a bias against the U.S; SE doesn't have much money to do their own customer service in the U.S; SE is prejudice against America
Overall: I do feel bad that a lot of you are victims of corporate stupidity and bias, but a lot of solutions are around. Best solution in my opinion is: don't buy any SE products or support any SE services. FFXI is a great game and I used to play it, but because of all the problems SE has, I didn't want any part of it. As Ron White said once: "You can't fix stupid."
Hell, Blizzard Entertainment gave me an extra free month of WoW yesterday just because I reported a cheater and was right. The GMs are also extremely nice people and very friendly to everyone, even those who are cheaters. I am not trying to endorse WoW, but I am just saying that if you aren't happy with the game you are playing, try a different one.
