tiamat isn't a good example... 70+20 chr with 225 wind skill can land it on tiamat 98% of the time, at least I never get resisted and if I do, I just give myself etudes voila problem solved~ cerb and hydra aren't even a good example cause with the same set-up I landed elegy no problem

That is easily the most bullshit thing I have ever read on BG. I'm the bard Lockecole was talking about, and I've watched other bards of HORRIBLE caliber attempt to elegy tiamat in every setup and cried and laughed at many of them. This is probably the worst I've ever heard. If you do what this moron is saying you're going to end up with dead tanks from your 0/12 Elegy land rate. You need both ample +CHR and wind skill to land songs on these high level mobs, especially Cerberus and Hydra, which are on a completely different tier of resist rate/difficulty. Having maxed basically everything and having perfect gear for these fights myself, sans Gjallarhorn, I still go through annoying streaks of many resists on Cerb and Hydra, Cerb being the tougher of the two.

Koul, retire your bard, or quit the game, cuz you're not playing it right.

Go for 8 wind merits. Nothing will show as much change as that on your jobs.

I have pretty much no problem landing elegy on most crap in that set-up, if I do have problems with something I put on my osode and jesters cape try again, if there's still problems then I give myself etudes... No. Big. Deal.

Mabye our LS just gets lucky cause all of the brds in my LS have no freakin problem and none of em are really pyshco-crazy about BRD... cept for one who only has like 2 merits in wind skill

Also, have you ever even fought Bahamut v2? You'd know you're not going to land elegy in that, the best bards in the game have only done it a handful of times. To put it simply - you're a liar. And a dumb one at that.
And if you REALLY need all that MP your mages in your omghnmls aren't doing their jobs.
