    Voted Florida.

A team who doesn't win a confrence should not be the national champion.

Agreed. If OSU-Michigan played in the NCG, and Michigan won, Ohio State would be the conference chmpion, Michigan the national champion. Even though it happens every year in some sport (i.e. NFL), it still feels wrong to me.

Well first of all to the person who said the OSU back is not even that good, Pittman is a great back, although far from Eddie George or the big bruising backs we have had in the past, he has great hands, rarely fumbles, amazing blocker, and still reaches 1000 yeards on the season. Chris Wells, all I can tell you is to watch this kid. He is a stud plain and simple and is going to set some records.

As far as the NCG goes I posted in another thread I dont want to play Michigan because it waters down our rivalry. Just as others said Michigan had their shot, and although it was on our home field, you still only get one shot a year to prove if you can beat Michigan. I voted for Florida but I am very much against them being the number 3 team in the land even. Leek is a QB who gets rattled very easily by attacking defense's, and really any defense that sends a blitz from the outside can force him to make stupid mistakes which he seems to do a lot. I would like to see Boise State so that we can set some kind of scoring record but that won't happen. Wisconsin would be a good choice 10-1, first and only loss to the #2 team in the country, but all that aside I guess Florida will be a decent choice they did close out the season with a 10 point victory over a very very good team (whom I think probably is better then their record indicates). Oh the anticipation is killing me!

An article I read this morning broke it down pretty well I think..

    1. Florida beat nine teams that are projected to play in bowl games. Michigan beat six.

    2. Michigan beat five teams that finished the season with losing records. Florida beat two teams with sub-.500 records.

    3. Florida's 12 Division I-A opponents had a combined record of 89-57. Michigan's 12 opponents had a combined record of 84-61.

    4. Michigan's best win is considered a 27-13 victory over Wisconsin on Sept. 23. The Badgers are 11-1 and have climbed to No. 7 in the AP Top 25 poll, despite having played only one ranked opponent -- the Wolverines -- the entire season.

    5. The 12 teams Florida defeated finished the season with 11 combined wins against opponents which were ranked in the AP Top 25 poll at the time the game was played. The opponents Michigan defeated claim just three wins against ranked teams (Notre Dame beat Penn State. Indiana beat Iowa. Vanderbilt beat Georgia. The Nittany Lions, Hawkeyes and Bulldogs, it should be noted, haven't been ranked in seven weeks).

    6. The Gators went 3-1 against ranked opponents, beating then-No. 13 Tennessee, No. 9 LSU and No. 8 Arkansas and losing at No. 11 Auburn. The Wolverines went 1-1 against ranked opponents, beating a highly overrated No. 2 Notre Dame team (that lost to Michigan and USC by a combined total of 46 points) and losing at No. 1 Ohio State 42-39 on Nov. 18.

    7. The Gators' average margin of victory against Division I-A teams was 13.5 points. They won seven games by 14 points or fewer, six by less than 10. The Wolverines' average margin of victory was 17.3 points. They won six games by 14 points or fewer, two by less than 10.

    8. The Gators played Western Carolina, a Division I-AA team, and won by 62 points. The Wolverines played Ball State, which should be a I-AA team, and won by eight.

    9. Since the Wolverines last played and lost at Ohio State, the Gators won at Florida State (The Seminoles are 6-6, but rivalry games are tough to win. Just ask USC coach Pete Carroll) and then beat the No. 8 Razorbacks, who defeated then-No. 2 Auburn and No. 13 Tennessee by 17 points each.

    10. Michigan didn't win the Big Ten; Florida won the SEC. Winning your conference should be a prerequisite for playing in the national championship.
Florida for the above reasons got my vote.

Is there a loaded list from Michigan's side to read?

What would it say beyond something like..

    1. Michigan's one loss came from the undisputed best team in the country, while Florida's came from an inconsistent Auburn.

They just don't stack up too well. Florida has the toughest schedule in the NCAA, 1-loss team vs 1-loss team, Michigan doesn't have enough to overcome that even.

#7 was semi-in-favor of Michigan, too, sorta

It's pratically a home game for LSU. 14 seems conservative.

That's why I said AT LEAST 14 >.> It could end up 40-3 like last year.

Well, it'll be interesting for the Rose Bowl. Michigan will be pissed that they lost to Ohio State and are not in the national championship game and USC will be pissed that they lost to UCLA and are not in the national championship game. Who's anger is greater? ;o

Wow, Wojo on espn already got his "Michigan got robbed" column out already. Which honestly, is bullshit. You can argue for one team or the other, and both sides have valid points...but you can't say Michigan got robbed, any more than you could have said Florida got robbed if Michigan got the slot. Both had great seasons and both had a legitimate resume for the championship game. Only one team can legitimately say they got robbed, and that's Oklahoma. If the PAC-10 officials hadn't stolen the Oregon win from them, they'd be 11-1 and might have been in the discussion for the title game. Now they get to beat the living crap out of Boise State in a game no one wants to see.

This might be the single worst slate of BCS games I've ever seen. Looking at them, 3 of the 5 are definate blowouts...Louisville is going to trash Wake Forest unfortunately, LSU is going to rip Notre Dame a new asshole big enough to shove Charlie Weis in sideways, and Oklahoma will make mincemeat out of Boise State. USC and Michigan should be a decent matchup if Pete Carroll actually decides to come up with some sort of game plan other than just showing up, and Florida will have enough time to prepare that the NC should be competitive.

Looking at the BCS games, I can't help but hate that Notre Dame game. It's stupid the damn bullshit they pull every year, just for us to watch LSU sodomize them in what should be one of the best bowl games. Shit like Rutgers vs K-State will make for a better game..

As for Boise State... I guess the cinderella in me wants to see them win. Who knows... stranger things have happened.
