    Blurry graphics

I'm getting an odd graphics problem with FFXI. There is a section of my view that is very blurry. On the screenshots take a look towards the area on the right side of the screen. It's very evident when looking at the names. If you zoom in you can see a line when it goes from perfectly fine and then abruptly it's out of focus.

My current settings are background 2048x2048, overlay 1680x1050, running in full screen 1680x1050. Mip and Bump mapping are off. Textures are uncompressed. The problem is there with or without Windower.

I've tried different backgroud settings. Lower res 1024x1024 and LCD native 1680x1050 don't have any effect.

My video card drivers are current. I'm using new Catalyst drivers with an X1900.

The only time I encounter this is with FFXI. Every other program and game runs perfectly fine. I have no clue why this is occuring and I've never heard of anyone that has had the same problem. I'm stumped.

Your problem is adaptive anti-aliasing. Turn that off to get it back to normal.

    That didn't work. :/

edit: Anti-aliasing is set to App decision, Adaptive is off, and Anistropic filtering is on App decision.

That looks more like an aniso problem, try turning it off.

If I have anti-aliasing and anistropic filtering on 'Let the application decide' that should be good enough as 'off' for FFXI right? Otherwise, is there a way to completely disable it with Catalyst? The sliders have no zero value; 2x is the lowest.

The temperature is fine, FFXI hardly moves the needle heh.

letting the application decide will always add it, there should be an option to disable it though

I can't find an option in Catalyst and haven't had any luck finding a way to completely disable it outside of that. I guess next I'll try and put in an old Nvidia card and see if the problem persists with that.
