If I ever needed your help more...

Ok, I need some people who are good at finding information on the internet.

Here's what I need to find.

"Average/Mean Earnings for college graduates (4-year) compared to high school graduates for: all workers, males, and females."

At first it may sound very broad and easy to find, but it's extremely difficult when it comes to finding these things.

I searched forever and forever at the Bureau of Labor Statistics website (bls.gov) but I can't find any earnings stats based on education.

If anyone is bored, or is willing to help me do some data search on the net, I'd be eternally grateful.

    http://nces.ed.gov/fastfacts/display.asp?id=77

Found this site. Shows 1980-2000 in five year incrementals, then every year up to 2004. about to seach for 05-06. It also shows for both men and women. Hope it helps.

    EDIT: http://www.collegerecruiter.com/webl...job_market.php

Found this website. It states 05-06 class's income for specific majors. might help a bit.

    nope

the first one gives median earnings, and combines all forms of education. The second gives earnings across specific occupations. I need average general earnings.

    Thanks for the help anyway

Didn't see you added specific years until now, but the one I posted listed the median for high school and 4 years in 2003, along with the various other stats. Don't know if the one point of reference helps or not

    http://www.census.gov/prod/2006pubs/acs-02.pdf

Look on page 12-13 of that report for education specific earnings breakdown. Thats just 2005 totals, but if you look here: http://www.census.gov/hhes/www/income/reports.html
there should be more years to choose from with similar reports. Don't have much time to dig through that site, but census.gov seems to be a good place to spend some time looking for the stats you want if they aren't all available in the above mentioned reports.

Found that info through this article: http://www.boston.com/news/education/hi ... 00_a_year/

    GL ~

Edit: Also found several links to charts such as this for several years, which could be adjusted for annual earnings. It is for full time and salaried workers 25 and older though, so it may not fit perfectly.

Bored at work and I enjoy research x_x

I remember one time in my 10th grade Geometry class when we were given a particular set of problems to solve, I spent the night trying to figure one of them out. After 2 hours and a page and a half of proofs I finally finished it. The next day I went into class and everyone was griping that the one problem was so hard and no one could solve it, it turns out that the teacher gave us the wrong set of problems.

And I was the only person in all of his classes that actually solved it correctly. I don't know why I remembered this, it just spran to mind and I had to share it

I too know the pain of working feverishly for your efforts to come to naught...
