And for us that have a wife/gf and just came home from a long day at school/work and want to play a game/work on hobby(FFXI was a hobby for me as you can see from how many jobs I leveled) before heading to sleep?

There are many reasons people play this game. The most common isn't because they don't have a life I'm sure. There are a couple of reasons I play:

*For one, this is the best mmorpg on PS2.
*I'm in debt to a lot of people/friends in this game for the help/gear I recieved (LS, Dynamis, etc.).
*Playing games on pc isn't so comfortable for me.
*My pc also sux so no shooters online, and crap. They are also a pain to maintain (defrag, spyware scan, update, find out whats wrong, repeat).
*The only games my friends and family are willing to play is EA sports (good but not great, over and over), and random silly games.

I also enjoy long walks on the beach, making bird houses, knitting, and DMC3:SE.

I'd sincerely watch your mouth when pointing your finger at other shells. I have a "friend" that bots in your shell. He's quite pleased with himself. How aware are your leaders of his actions, I wonder. I won't, as they say, put him on blast on a public forum. Neither will I make his name public, as I was sworn to secrecy. But just letting you know, you also have mud on your hands. Everyone would do well to tread lightly when it comes to placing blame on which shell has bots active at camps. I think the truth would shock even the most jaded players.

Well see, what you aren't bothering with here is the context of the situation. I don't know how I can spell it out more clearly, you guys are still gonna take it in the way that provides you a platform for righteous indignation. I'll try one more time, see if you can keep up here.

I'm sure there ARE people in every LS that bot, it is an assumption of sorts as I do not know of anyone (any more) in our LS that bots. We've told people not to officially, and unless someone does something that is patently obvious I have no way of knowing who it is. My stance is that if I found out of it I'd tell them to cut it the fuck out, and if it was done obviously multiple times I'd take steps to remove them from the shell (it is not my decision only but I'd ask it to be done). However, I don't know who the people in my shell are that bot (assuming you are neing truthful), and I really have no way of discovering. I guess I could narrow the list down by eliminating anyone thats gone to a faf camp since mid summer- that or the bot is terrible and the person has no clue how to use it.

However what we have here is a situation that is effectively unprecedented within the last 3 years or so, where someone has AFK claimed THREE times, to the degree where it's not up for debate anymore what is or is not happening.

My LS doesn't know, and can NOT do anything.

Your LS DOES know and CHOOSES not to do anything.

Do you see the difference here? So yes, I do have room to speak on this, and I do not have dirt on my hands because I'm not knowingly allowing people to continue to bot while telling everyone "gosh botting sure sucks and it's unfortunate."

However, my problem- my reason for posting in this thread- isn't so much that people ARE botting, but that people are not just sacking up and being honest about it. I mean, you're cheating, poorly and you're covering it up, poorly. I get tired of hearing "ohh we don't like botting, oh it's wrong, oh it's bad for the game but golly shucks we're just pushed into a corner and we have no choice but to do it in order to compete." It's BS. Were there a person in my LS that had done what ingwe done I'd have them out...I'd at the very least tell them they are barred from the camps because it's an embarassment to the LS.

There must be some sort of miscommunication, but we're both in the same boat. Ingwe had been bitched out after the second time (again, I had assumed after the first it was self-explanatory to cut it out, but I actually had to take the guy aside and really say "ok, stoppit." Gotta give him some leeway, as much as it may piss other people off, but he has some stature, it's simply not feasible to say "okay, you're gone.").

I think there's surprisingly little difference here, it's either miscommunication or people like to argue (or maybe both).

I've been nothing but honest, and nobody's tried covering it up, because trying to explain away afk claims is pretty damn futile.

I take the time to read your oft well-worded posts, take the time to read mine. It's your opinion and you're entitled to it, but often intra-linkshell matters are never so cut and dry. There's no single leader of either of our shells, and nobody rules with an iron fist. Again, Ingwe has a lot of shit he's gotten from the ls unrelated to claiming anything, and has a lot of people who enjoy having him around, too many people would be irritated/upset to see him go so abruptly, especially since he's only technically been given 1 warning, something that's probably my fault.
