Didn't ED flail themselves earlier this week? I wasn't in Aery or even ingame, but I heard something about them recovering and then being GMed for stalling or w/e.

And didn't the same ED person claim three days in a row this week? Let me guess, he either has a really good internet connection/computer or he's on PS2/XBOX, rite?

I'm not really sure if ED has flailed themselves this week - I know for a fact Eden did. They simply got a bit overzealous at 5% and they got flailed. A SAM or two used Meikyo and downed Fafnir soon after that. This retort is invalidated by the fact that getting full breathed does not equal getting flailed.

Reasons people get full breathed: They don't stand on the leg. If you have experience with Fafnir and you die by this means, then you really have no excuse other than lack of attentiveness. This is not an overly-nuanced mob; there really is no excuse for someone getting fullbreathed (after several months in Aery).

Reasons people get flailed (by themselves): Lack of experience (see also: nuking from behind, curing from a 90 degree angle, etc), and recklessness (SA, SA+WS). I'm guilty of doing the latter, as is Chiz, and so is some Eden member, although I never really figured out who did it. You live and you learn. Key word being 'learn.'

I've seen ED kill an early morning Fafnir with 9 or so people, and only one tank (Lycurgus). I've seen half their alliance be ported to Altep during Nidhogg and still pull out a kill. ED isn't necessarily the fastest at clocking these kills (remember that thread?), but they are certainly controlled and resilient. Controlled is something TG and Eden are not. We make our living by SA+WSing wyrms - it is just fun to us.

Point being, you're speculating that ED flailed themselves, which I do not recall. Even if they did, getting flailed is NOT getting fullbreathed by any stretch. More over, I really reserve the viewpoint that any shell can do anything given the experience. There are tactics and job templates to be implemented, and that's it. It's hard not to harp on other linkshells for their lack of skill, but in all honesty skill is hardly a facet in this game, to me.

ED member claiming? Iunno, kinda sounds like speculation. You have speculation, whereas we have SEEN Ingwe AFK stun Nidhogg while out of party and die, and AFK claim while in alliance; hence the accusations of botting. Remember when Mikeo warp claimed Aspid and KB? Yeah, we accused UP of botting after we saw that. Our suspicions were not speculation and certainly not unfounded.

The whole Fairy scene that involves a gigantic witch hunt to appoint a new botting scapegoat is really annoying. We can never truly confirm if a subtle person is botting so I don't give it a second thought. The best you can do is report suspicious activity and motivate your members to focus during windows. Instead we resort to making Aery the breeding grounds for accusations and that has never really gotten us anywhere - unless you call Fafnir/Nidhogg flails and rodeos 'somewhere.'

I do recall Lycurgus claiming several Fafhoggs in a short span, but I've done the same, as has Ryko. Again, no point in even conjuring any sort of speculation if you can't back it up.

As far as the Burst II mb thing, it happens a lot, irregardless of what % the mob is at. Many blm's aren't too keen on controlling their DoT.

I prefer Thunder III until 70% and then maybe do a IV if I feel hate has been firmly established. 2 Thunder IVs in a row will get its attention though.

I agree most blms are horrible at controlling their DoT, and using burst II at any time is a given at putting you at the top of an mob's shit list. When you're undermanned though and have one or two blms, the question of whether or not to use Burst II at all shouldn't even cross one's mind at 90%.

Ill go with what Toth says and start with T3s for a while. A T4 in the middle and maybe a burst 2 at the end if mp and hp of the alliance is fine or its going to / needs to die regardless.

I believe ED had 2 sets of Darters and a Spike Flail @ 70% or so last week or this past weekend, and [GM]Landisl coming out to ask ED to do more damage to a slept Fafnir. Eden had a Spike Flail @ 5%ish earlier this week.
