I should also mention that no Vrtra strategy is complete without planning for it to spike flail ~5%.. there isn't any way around it. In all of our kills there was only one time he didn't flail, and there were a few victories where he flailed more than once. That combined with his super summoning, lol @24.

Lol, don't get me wrong, a spike flail is possibly the coolest thing to see in this game, I just dont get why people think its so unnavoidable on something like Vrtra. PLD/NINs kite, line up, SMNs BP without assaulting, and even if she summons, guess what? No TP. PLD/NINs blink most of the hits, SMNs dont assault therefore give no TP (lol @ Predator Claws being TPless) and there's no chance at a flail. Most of the time we get hit while kiting and flashing Vrtra, which usually never results in a flail, if anything the PLD is running and would probably outrun it.
Sloppy Vrtras = Spike Flails. Unnecessary Assaulting and melee = Spike Flail. Don't do either, and you're safe.

only 1 kirin not 2.... and we didnt wipe to 4 tiamats it was 1 tiamat that was rushed to start with improper jobs(not even proper holding pt), all the others(i.e. 4) were low number and so it just looked like it was bad due to the time it took to kill.

as for the vrtra claim i will retract the comment about 24 people, i am most likely wrong about that since i wasnt actually on for the low number kill(was prolly more around 34 when i was doing the math i forgot to add the blm's w). Jorm and Tia numbers are correct since i was there for both those low number kills.

What? The only time when I've seen Vrtra flail is when some SAM decides to SA Gekko immediately after a PLD gets charmed.

Yea, we wiped to a TP burn Kirin. Things happen when you take risks. I remember a time after PM set the server record for a DL win which we all gloated about, and then we wiped to a Genbu a few weeks later.

The "copying" thing is pretty meaningless too. Maybe killing a TP burn Kirin in 3 minutes is worthless because someone did it in 5. Perhaps all DL wins should be declared copy fodder because Chainspell Stun is necessary to win, or all Bahamut v2 wins declared to be nothing because "Hay guyz, this strat says use dispel, stun and burst2, letz GOOOOO".

Yes Fu, PM set the bar and I was proud to be a part of it. But lest we forget, you were the one who gave up on the linkshell causing the break, not those of us who didn't want to clean up the mess left in the wake of your childlike temper tantrum. That shit sticks with you, and is the worst decision you ever made. And using acceptable strategies to kill HNM is a "bad" thing because you didn't come up with it first? Fuckin' lol. There's two problems which make Vrtra more prone to Flailing than other wyrms. First is the same movement which happens when drag a spider through Faffhogg, Vrtra summons to the exact same POS as itself, so it moves right after to make space, if the tank is within range there is a chance to flail, if they're not then Vrtra cuts a corner and eats the PLD. The second is charming. If the tank gets charmed and the mages are behind (cause they shouldn't be in breath range) then you may get a flail. Both are things which don't happen with other Wyrms.

Ya son talk to your friends Jeryhn and Ivy about that Vrtra strat. While KoN/WW were zerging it and tanking straight up; me, Jer, Tribal, Hone, Ivy, Epi and Mingto put together the kiting strat with 2 rdm/drk stunning on the kite rotation. Sup.

While KoN/WW was zerging DL with 64 at the top PM was using finesse and beating it with 40~ using the wall. Sup.

What happened after all that, little girl? KoN and WW started copying PM strats to win, since copying the JP strats weren't working out so well. Sup.

It isn't so much that she is going to flail on you every time, but game mechanics cause it to happen no matter what. She gets tp from auto-meditate and then she gets out of the way of her owns summons. It is kind of like dragging spiders across fafnir. You can get lucky and it never happen, but the closer she is to dying the more often she uses her tp AND the more often she summons and if you're are unprepared and do not have a straitigy for taking one and recovering you just wasted an afternoon.

Like most things there is a lot of luck involved I suppose.. I'm like 0/95 on my RSE sachet still.

But that was the straw that broke the camel's back Fu. I was done working playing a game I didn't enjoy anymore at the time. So yes, I moved on. Many, many others followed in my stead. Ever since, I've accomplished a lot and I feel really good about it, and your metrosexual and/or cliche cultural quotes about it aren't going to make me feel worse about it.
