RDMs: Chasuble or Glamor Jupon?
I'd use Rostrum over Nashira for Aspir.
might be almost insignificant, but I'd like to get my aspir timer as low as possible, I usually dont get resisted anyways.
chasuble sounds like char siew bao, or roasted pork bun.Originally Posted by Awoir

Exactly what I think too. I wear Turban, Rostrum and Loquacious for all my dark spells. Aspir@50 seconds or less is really noticable.Originally Posted by NynJa

Chasuble, unless somehow your 200ish dark magic skill gives you full acc against what you're drain/aspiring. 210 skill vs 207 (not assuming any other skill gear than torque/glamor jupon) is still right around a D rating.Originally Posted by Awoir

Curosity: How did you come up with 120 for a cap?
I was always under the impression that the dark spells were a softcap, based on skill, due to not being a tiered spell.
Because we've never seen a neutral (no staff/day/weather) aspir for more than 120.Originally Posted by Goso
but with Dark skill + gear? (camping hnms atm, but want to test this)Originally Posted by aurik
Even with as much dark skill++ as you can pile on. No staff, no day, no weather, the most you'll ever see is 120.Originally Posted by Goso
Or more practically you'll never see a no-day, no-weather, non-MBed Aspir for more than 138 (since most people posting here have Pluto's), and you'll see 138 a lot more than any other specific integer.
Edit: Now do you see why your 193 with Diabolos Pole is significant?
Wow, now were in sea for a few hours, going to test this (I believe you, just wanna see it for muh self, ya know?)
Have you tried this with Dark Knights by chance? Or Rdms? or is 120 a blm only thing?
Edit: Does my theory have any fundamental flaws that I overlooked?

Dynamis doesn't count, double-dark weather doesn't count. The cap there is 186 with plutos on darksday, 172 on other days. That's just RDM low Dark skill.Originally Posted by FFXIFlux
Edit: Also,
The flaw would be in that you are assuming day plays a factor. It's based on Dark Weather, and I imagine what aurik proposed is most likely (each weather gives a 10% staff bonus, capping at 20% or 194 in triple dark). Although it could do something similar but subtly different, like adds 12 to base aspir each instance of weather, or adds 24 or 25 in the presense of any dark weather, single or double. Also, you're probably comparing max 2-conditions with pole to max 3-conditions with Pluto's. But as I wrote above, in Dynamis without day bonus, max Pluto's Aspir is 172, and you ought to compare your Aspirs with pole on those days to that figure instead.Originally Posted by Goso
So what you're saying is that all dark skill does is determine resists then (save Bio DoT)?Even with as much dark skill++ as you can pile on. No staff, no day, no weather, the most you'll ever see is 120.
Do you have any evidence/tests/whatever?
That's not what I'm saying at all. I'm saying that regardless of dark skill's effect on aspir potency, there is a hard cap of 120 base before any condition modifiers are applied (staff, day, weather, MB)Originally Posted by Umbra
Add a Swift Belt to that, and that's what I use lol.Originally Posted by Delekii
So what do you believe dark skill's effect on aspir/drain is then?Originally Posted by aurik
