its stupid to think pld can go exp /nin unless its a merit burn PT... also stupid to think that if you trade hate gear for str-dex-acc u will keep hate with dmg unless you have war-sam as mele.. rolf.. cant remember who wrote that but.. go exp pld to 75 then u will see

After 60 (late 60s really) should /nin since you're going to be in burn pt styles more often than not and not going to tank the same way, you'll need to tank with damage.

I hope I'm not the only one who misses "traditional" parties. I know, I know, xp wasn't nearly as fast, but it was more fun, really...and that's kinda the point to me. Tank, healer, refresher, DDx2, MB'r...I guess that's how I saw SE wanting things to be "balanced". They've certainly not kept up their end of the bargain imo...

With the right gear and merits its actually kinda stupid how broken PLD can be DD wise for having no att./att. bonuses.

Seeing as how I can break 300 skill without increase from gear, and get another +12 from gear...oh yeah you can eat meat and still get around 90%ish acc rating. I was too lazy to merit sword though I picked katana for my NIN.

I'm in my late 50s (justh it 58 last night), and I generally go shield skill and enmity, then defense/vit, then HP (convenient that much of the AF has all of them, but still). Well, anyways. I started using a parrying earring last night, which I bought for red mage to level the skill, and... well, it may be a placebo effects, noticing what was already there, but even with my parrying skill well under cap, I seemed to notice an increase in parrying rate from it. It wasn't like parrying every other attack, but it was certainly a lot more amazing than that time I tried an Avenger's earring (4 counters in 3 hours, totally worth the 300k).

5 from Supponoimi

304 Total add a Headgehog Pie to that and that should be more than enough for any merit PT.

I missed them too untill I got into one the other day, got my "fix" and stopped missing them. They're ok only with friends, waste of time otherwise since xp is crap and everything takes much longer to kill.

He corrected himself, did it really need a snide post? I actually asked for a reason, because firstly my monk would cum buckets if I could hit that 300 mark for higher base dmg and secondly because I'm about to level loltarupld and any advantage will be useful.

Use the power of your MP pool, at 75 with NIN sub once you get hate you're not going to lose it. Granted nothing completly fucking retarted. [I figured I would spell that out for some people.... ]

lol , u say 300 dmg , i do 500 with all my war ws gear ( charm, hetatomb cap,glove,feet,rajas,sniper, and more .. and i still think its shit DMG when i do 1000-1500 on war ,so no pld can tank with DD gear even if you do 500.. + voke-flash-PLD ability.

anyway

When i leveled PLD i used best equip i could find until that lv29 war/pld set (HQ) changed body at 45 for (lol i quit too long ago cant remember the name ) and changed gear for AF at 52. with full vit and agi gear i swear you will parry-block a lot and wont take big DMG from exp mob.

60+ its AF until koenig-AF2, bomb queen ring-jelly if you have a LS and u should have no trouble..

Best equip = DD-gear. Not quite sure where the above poster for 300dmg, they were talking sword skill. Vorpal is only slightly weaker than rampage...

You can check my gear below, basically when I merit on PLD, which I do until WAR hits 75 (had a horrible lack of mages in the sixties lately) my TP gear is:

Haste: 10% + Suppa's Delay Reduction
Attack: 66.5 (counting STR as 2:1)
Accuracy: 33 + Suppa's 5 Sword & currently 6/8 Sword merits
STR: +12 & 5 from Food

In the Mire I always eat Attack Food with this setup, in the Thickets on Mamool Ja I normally have to equip O-Hat and Potent Belt to be happy with my ACC.

For WS I basically macro in an additional +17 STR and +8 ACC, or +13 STR and +18 ACC depending on average TP return.

It's nowhere near the best, I'm working on it but focusing on gear that will be used on my WAR, since I won't be meriting on PLD when WAR hits 75.

At the time being, my Vorpals in Mire are around 650-850, highest being 1080-ish.

I do tend to out-TP average DD's, even Flashing and Curing when needed to help out, but I don't have Rampage or Asuran Fists.

All in all, it's fun, I can do decent considering my job, but I'd prefer to tank as a PLD, and recommend anyone levelling it to put that as their first priority, with the ability to DD as an available but not primary ability.

EDIT: I dont have Sword Merits nor Suppanomimi. Choose to pick Knight's Earring, since Shield Skill benefits me more on endgame
